5 Minute Snack Ideas for Students! (vegan)

Hi hello and welcome. Today I bring to you a bunch of 5 MINUTE vegan snack ideas - Many of which are by the lovely people in the comment section. A single serving mug pancake, a tasty japanese cucumber salad, a healthy and cozy apple punch, black bean corn cakes and so much more! Perfect for study breaks or even while you study haha

INGREDIENTS 🥳
#1 Apple Nachos
1 apple, cut into thin slices
a squeeze of fresh lemon juice
a handful of granola and/or whole wheat cereal
a small handful of dark chocolate chips
a pinch of cinnamon
1 tbsp peanut butter
serves 1

#2 Sunomono - ”Noodle” Salad
1 cucumber, cut into noodles
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp rice syrup or 1 1/2 tsp sugar
2 tsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
salt to taste
serves 1-2

#3 Healthy Orange Chocolate
1 orange
a dust of cinnamon
a dust of unsweetened cocoa powder

#4 Apricots and Peanut Butter
Dried Apricots
Peanut Butter

#5 Mug Pancake
1/3 cup of all purpose flour (40g)
1/2 tsp baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 tbsp of sugar
1 1/2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp non dairy milk
coconut oil for the greasing
toppings of choice like maple syrup, vegan butter, berries, nut butter etc.
NOTES
- make sure your mug is oven proof and able to hold at least 160ml (⅔ cup)
- the applesauce can be subbed for 1 flax egg (1 tbsp semi ground flax seeds + 2 tbsp water → letting that sit for ~ 10 min, and the person who tested this recipe with the flax egg added 3 1/4 tbsp non dairy milk instead of only 3 tbsp)
- I baked it for 20 min @180C and then for 2-3 min @210C to get that nice golden brown top → check after 18-20 min if yours needs to go longer with the higher temp, ovens can vary
from what the testers on instagram said, try baking it for 1:45-2:00 min at 700-800 watt

#6 Crunchy Coconut Chocolate Trail Mix
a handful of your favorite healthy cereal
a small handful of dried fruit of choice, like cranberries or raisins
~ 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips or cocoa nibs
a small handful of raw or roasted almonds
a small handful of coconut chips
1 serving as a snack or 2-3 if you use it as a smoothie topping
#7 Vegan Feta and Plum Toast
1 English muffin
vegan feta (i recommend Bedda or Violife)
plum jam
i think some arugula would go nice here as well, quite a fancy weird toast
#8 Apple and Fennel Punch
⅔ cup fennel tea (160ml)
⅓ cup apple juice (80ml)
serves 1
9 Black Bean Corn Cakes
½ cup black beans (120g)
~ 2 tbsp ketchup
salt, pepper to taste
if needed: a splash of water to adjust the consistency
2-3 corn or rice cakes or crackers or toast
½ avocado
a squeeze of lemon juice
a pinch of both salt and chili flakes
serves 1-2 as a snack or 1 as a small meal (sub the rice or corn cakes for bread and you’ve got yourself a little meal)

    My fave, HIGHLY SUGGESTED snack: blend 1 frozen banana with about 2 tbsp of cocoa powder in a blender (like nicecream), than add cold stong pepermint tea to create a thick milkshake-consistency - tastes heavenly like a mint-choclate-milkshake 😍💯

    same, its dangerous for me to go fully vegan since i need some nutrients that are just more available in eggs and meat, but i do like vegan snacks and i try to be as envoirementally friendly as possible. Ive tried to go vegan but i started to faint due to nutrition loss and supplements cant make up for it, be careful but good luck on your vegan journy :)

    @@Nuriyya91 mostly vitamins like b12 and thiamine, also I lacked proteins, since I'm nut allergic and don't want to eat beans every day

    If you want a very indulgent mugcake: 3tbsp of flour, I usually use oat flour 2tbsp of unsweeteng cacao powder 2 and a half tbsp of plant based milk, I think almond works the best 1 tbsp of oil, I use olive oil because I'm Spanish 1 tbsp of the sweetener of you choice, I use raw sugar 1/4 tsp of baking soda Combine all in the mug you're going to use and place an ounce of vegan milk chocolate in the middle, then push it down so it gets to the middle of the batter, then place it in the microwave for 1 minute and 10-30 seconds. Enjoy! It's amazing

    This isn’t an original idea but I love to squeeze lotsss of fresh lime juice+pulp all over frozen green grapes! The lime juice freezes at contact so it makes a delicious sour grape/lime sherbet. Cutting the frozen grapes in half also creates more surface area for more frozen lime! Aaand you can just blend the grapes and lime for a simple sorbet :)

    ooohh that sounds delishhh! I've always seen the people on tiktok saying grapes with lime tastes like sour patch kids, but I've never thought about freezing it! My mouth is salivating now hehe

    i've been having this snack every day this week: 1 tbsp nut butter 1 tbsp plant based milk 1 tbsp cocoa powder mix it and add blueberries and almonds for a nice, healthy snack :))

    My fave snack when I'm leaning more savory: make a sandwich with some cheese (I recently found a great vegan mozz), rehydrated sun dried tomatoes, spinach and basil. Toast it up so the cheese melts. It's heavely!

    @@Mina_Rome I have a salad recipe that I love and wanted to share with you .all you need is broccoli , mushroom , zucchini ,red and yellow bell peppers ,tofu .for the dressing you need lemon , orange , mustard sauce , chilli flakes (mix 2 tbs orange juice , 1/2 tbs lemon juice , 2 tbs mustard sauce and add chilli flakes according to your taste heat all these ingredients in a pan or oven )mix this sause to slightly sauteed veggies that's all it is yumm♥️

    Leftover steamed potatoes with the skin on, pressed into a hot waffle iron and served with a soy joghurt tzatziki or other sauce of choice is a thing for me since i got a belgium type waffle iron. Love your video as always 😘

    This recipe has been like a go-to snack/breakfast for me lately so here it is: One banana One whole wheat or wheat tortilla Peanut Butter 1. Spread peanut butter to your desired amount on tortilla. 2. Add banana and roll it up 3. In a toaster put the banana wrap in and toast on moderate heat 4. Cut in half and eat/enjoy like a wrap! Additional ingredients: Jam can also be spread to make it PB&J style. Seed butters for those allergic to nuts. Notes: Cutting it in half before toasting it. If you don't have a toaster, try toasting it on the pan until the wrap is well sealed and banana is gooey on the inside!

    One of my favorite snacks comes from a coffee shop (All Seasons - shout out!) in Wisconsin that I've attempted to recreate at home. Smooth your favorite hummus on the warmed tortilla; layer on sautéed mushroom, onion, and diced tomatoes. Add some roasted potato pieces (or roast up some of those mini yellow potatoes), then top with spinach and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Finish by wrapping up your burrito and lightly heat it up in a pan (or enjoy as is!).

    Omg these look so good, def need to try them!! Recently, I found a recipe for an applesauce-bread, which I thought you might also love, it's absolutely amazing: 2 cups flour (I used whole wheat flour) 2 flax eggs 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup unsweetend applesauce 1 tbsp of maple syrup raisins, any kind of nuts (I went for walnuts) (I also needed a bit of oat milk, 'cause the mixture was still too dry) Pre-heat your oven to 180 C and line a loaf pan with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients and mix them all up. In another smaller sized bowl combine the wet ones. Mix together the wet and the dry ingredients and also add the raisins and nuts. Pour the mixture into your loaf pan and bake it for 30 min. It's sooo yummy!! Also tastes great with peanut butter

    one of my fave combo: bread/rice cake + avo + chilli flakes + nutritional yeast also zucchini pizzas: sliced zucchini into rounds, put some ketchup (or pizza sauce), spices and vegan cheese (or other toppings) and bake in the oven for 5 minutes

    OOOOO i'm so gonna try these!!! So when i get tired of peanutbutter dates choco dipped snickers versions and all i tend to like to eat them with walnuts and dried cranberries instead. They make a great healthy on the run or super fast study/ work snack. some other great pairings w/o cranberries and walnuts are, goya cookies and dark choco! love these vids stay healthy!!

    Some of my favorite snacks are things I never thought of combining! 1 - Avocado and orange slices! I would never have thought of that before it got recommended to me and it is AWESOME. 2 - Avocado + add a spoon full of sauerkraut + top with dill. Crazy good!

    I also really like making stuffed dates! Stuf them with nut butter and chocolate chunks, or coco-almond spread! I love topping that one with some crushed pistacchious. It can be varied by taste and is so delicious and easy

    Love this video! My go to snack at the moment are rice cakes topped with homemade vegan pesto, sliced piccolo cherry tomatoes (the sweeter the tomatoe the better!), sprinkled with homemade vegan parmesan cheese. It's like a mini pizza 😋

    A very, very, VERY tasty variation of the mug cake is adding Oreos! That's sooo yummy and I honestly eat that a lot. Just the same recipe as in this video, just crumble up 1-2 Oreos and add them to the mixture. Tastes so good I promise ❤

    I made the mug pancake right away and its so good! Works fine with self rising flour. Served with some vegan butter and schenkstroop (Dutch caramellized sugar syrup)😋

    Beetroot Hummus is amazing!! Just blend regular hummus ingredients (like chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, cumin, lemon juice) and add some pickled beetroot close to the end. Ohh and what I've been loving lately is adding chopped dates and a few pieces of candied ginger to my oatmeal while it's still cooking - gives it a really nice, naturally sweet taste and spice :p

    Been wanting to try some vegan recipes will definitely give these a try. The last one is actually pretty common in my house (we're salvadoran) you can either switch the avocado for cheese or you can do both and put it on a tortilla w/ just salt. So good!

    i love these videos because im vegetarian and i always love having new ideas of snacks to try so i thought i would comment my newest obsession. It is very simple but i have been having it like crazy these past few weeks! slice an apple into desired shape (i do slices but cutting it into smaller/ bigger pieces works fine too) drizzle some honey on top add cinnamon top with oats ( i haven't ventured farther than plain oats but im sure granola or anything similar would be just as good)

    I did the mug cake in the microwave this morning with peach sauce as a breakfast it was delicious !! I recommend it a lot whereas I usually don’t like microwave mug cakes !

    listening to your voice is always soothing!! anyway I got a quick snack idea that I always love : cut avocado in half, remove the pit, then put yogurt (any type that you like, I usually go for coconut yogurt) and top it off with some crunchy toppings like granola or cacao nibs. dig in with spoon, pretend like that avocado is your bowl! I hope you give that idea a try!

    I love making a really simple cole slaw! All I do is slice half a red cabbage with a mandolin, then add about half a cup of vegan mayo and about 1-2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar! Soo good, and works as a snack and as a salad for dinner!
