    I went pretty hardcore on the minimalism. Sold everything I own except for 4 suitcases of stuff (for my whole family) and moved out of the country. Felt good getting rid of so much junk, now everything that I own has a purpose.

    How did you go about getting rid of mementos? I find that to be the one area where it’s most difficult to get rid of things

  • @MichaelMoscoso

    @MichaelMoscoso

    @@Danijanet this may sound weird, but we divided mementos into two categories. High value and low value. Low value meaning things that give us a smile and bring back memories when we see them, and high value meaning an important part of our history, something we could never part with. We took the low value items and took good photos of them, sometimes video if it made sense. And the high value items we put into a couple of storage totes that we left at my parents house. I think it worked well for us, but might not for others.

    Saving money while raising a baby is almost a miracle. A single bachelor can do extreme things like living out of a car and using gym membership for showers etc but living relatively “normally” and pull this off without resorting to charities like going to the food bank and eating in various soup kitchens doing it with dignity is a method I like in your approach

    The only thing I'd add, I agree to your point about a goal being short enough to not get discouraged, but I'd take that a step further and say just commit to doing it today. Then tomorrow, commit to doing it that day. The "one day at a time" mentality worked wonders for me. Solid video as always.

    The fact that you believed in something enough to try it for 90 days created a habit (formed in 21 days) for you in that area. It's not really tricking yourself if you believe in what you're doing. Kudos to finding what works for you! And - someone who works a FT job and takes time to do things on the side to better themselves is NOT lazy! Keep on keeping on!!

    Habits don’t form in 21 days. Formation of a habit works off of two primary factors: 1. How difficult the action/proposed habit is, and 2. How often you repeat the habit (a habit will form twice as quickly if you do it twice a day).

    I wouldn’t say I am a full minimalist, however I have always been good at understanding and accepting delayed gratification. This allowed me, on an average salary, to retire at 49. My income now in retirement is the same or better than my post tax/savings income when I was working and I’m good with that. I don’t need or want the latest handbags/shoes etc, and I live a much simpler life now… I loved hearing about essentialism from you, which I see as more of who I am. Thank you for your videos.

    We switched from a pellet stove and are saving a lot of money, plus our home is warmer. We go out once every few weeks, rather than every Friday. We are buying clothes only when we need them and buying from BJ'S rather than local grocery stores. I suppose we save a few hundred every other month. I work from home which saves a bunch of money. I work out at home...no gym fees. I'm not antisocial...just trying to be more efficient. I cut way back on sugar. We live quite comfortably on very little money. Daily I declutter half a dozen or so items because space makes the house look bigger.

    The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Nice Pizza Gabe ! Seems like we have the same passion :) Next step for me was planting my own basil and tomatoes, I think that also shapes minimalism. Good luck with it bro !

    Hi, new to your channel, old video I know. I quit sugar 5 years ago and I wish I did it decades ago. I also quit meat a year later and they were the best things I ever did for my health. Loving your content, and congrats on your babies and successes.🤠

    Try the Wim Hof Method (The Ice Man), you'll always be ready for that cold plunge! This is all awesome advice! I'm working on this finally at 60, glad that you're doing it much younger. 💜🙏💜

    You absolutely should follow your passions. If you love it, you will do a great job, and that will lead to recognition and success.
