Peter goes to find Kingpin and tears off the top half of his costume and beats the shit out of Kingpin - no jokes, no quips, no banter. Finally, he places his hand just under Kingpin's nose and tells him that it would only take him three seconds to fill his lungs entirely with webbing, but that he's not going to do that now. If Aunt May dies, WHEN Aunt May dies, Peter will track Kingpin down and do just that. Peter holds himself back from killing people because it would upset Aunt May, but once she's gone, there's nothing stopping him. And if anyone ever thinks it's a good idea to attack Spider-Man by coming after the people he cares about, they can look at Kingpin's battered body. He does this all in front of Kingpin's men, so that they see that he's just a man.

In the original Deadpool, they wanted to have a scene where Ajax and Deadpool fight in a freeway. To get Deadpool to back off, Ajax grabs a kid and puts a gun into his head. To get back at Ajax, Deadpool goes to a random car, takes out a girl, puts a gun into her head and tells Ajax to let the boy go or he'll shoot.

Thanos in 2014 was much more brutal than Infinity War Thanos. He was unrelenting and dead set on conquering. In Infinity War, he's understanding, not so much a villain just someone who's lost everything and believes the rest of the people in the world needs to experience the same thing in order to survive forever. He didn't want to kill Black Panther, Peter Parker or Gamora. He just had to do what he thought was right. Endgame's Thanos just wanted to kill everything in his path, and it's really easy to tell.

For real, Marvel has far darker stories. The Venom comics are pretty intense. Venom eats pedophiles and rapists. Carnage eats everyone and in the most painful way possible... after all Carnage is a symbiote that has attached itself to a socio-psychopath. You can expect Carnage to cause death and destruction everywhere, but with Joker, you can never know if he is placing fake bombs in daycare center just to shoot you with a waterpistol and tell a joke like "whats the matter? did you wet your bed?" or if he is actually trying to blow up the place and the little kids along it.

Although the first series is more darker and brutal, the second one is much sadder as Deadpool is aware of what he's doing and he hates himself for it. It's so sad. Also he eats the brains of a certain superhero while dressed as a another villain. That's freaking dark as hell

griffhay1 The billy club through the heart was seen as a cruel mercy by it's writer, Kevin Smith, because he knew she would go through a parade of never-ending torments before writers realized they didn't need to make her an unlucky women with self-destructive tendencies to make her, and by extension Daredevil, interesting. And given how grim the lives of Daredevil supporting characters got after Frank Millar left the series for good, I could easily see where Kevin Smith was coming from.

And, of course, I get an endgame ad right before the vid starts...

NS120121 Ultimate Fantastic Four wasn't always great, or always as well told as the original stories, but they were consistently *fun* ! My favorite stories were that sort of trashy trilogy of storyarcs involving the Ultimate Frightful Four (they were the Marvel Zombies Fantastic Four), the Ultimate Fantastic Four's debut issues, and the surprisingly smart reimagining of the Psycho Man as an invading space alien who tries to create utopia by making everyone happy and relatively equal in belongings and wealth.

When I see these kind of comic storylines it just makes me think they’re written by guys who hate comics and comic readers.

*MARVEL ZOMBIES SPOILER ALERT* I mean yeah Marvel Zombies was pretty dark. Definitely darker than Infinity War. The Thanos one shouldn't be on the list. Thanos may have won but everything ends up being restored. But they end up saving the day in Marvel Zombies at least. It's kind of weird how they go about it. As there seems to be different endings for more than one Universe. But in one Universe an amped Dr. Doom wipes the Zombies out. Then in another an amped Sandman wipes them all out.

How about the Marvel Universe vs. The Avengers storylne. Back when we were obsessed with zombies, Marvel had the bright idea to make the Earth be infected with a cannibal plague. The story end with Thor smashing to guacamole Clint Barton's head using Mjolnir and Hawkeye was the last uninfected Avenger... Yeah Marvel else-worlds style stories are just plain disturbingly dark.

Alec Norton It’s left ambiguous if Thor is actually infected or not. Thor had already abandoned Earth by then, and Hawkeye is left as the last uninfected Avenger as he swears to do right by them. Then Thor comes back to Earth, kills Clint then fucks off right back to Asgard. Punisher is the only uninfected hero or villain left by then, and he begins hunting down those infected.

That last story actually sounds like it could be a very interesting alternate universe spin-off that moves the genre from action-based drama to full on greek tragedy (with a few fights).

PS: Infinity War comic Is not about the snap. That's the Infinity Gauntlet. Plus,Thanos snaps at the beginnings of the comics,not at the end.

I think that time R2-D2 fell down a flight of stairs was darker than Infinity War. Saying it was depressing is really stretching

The one time I’m glad a thumbnail is clickbait.

Just to build off of what was said about “Ruins” in the video: The Avengers tried to help California secede from the United States and were ultimately killed by the Government in a missile strike, Matt Murdock/Daredevil was killed by chemical burns instead of getting powers from the truck that hit him, James Howlett/Wolverine is nothing more then a side show attraction at a bar, showing his horribly mangled hands to customers, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch sold out the Avengers for immunity, Clint Barton/Hawkeye was shot in the head, T,Challa/Black Panther was put in prison along with other members of the Black Panther Organization, Norrin Radd/Silver Surfer was driven insane after becoming the Silver Surfer and ripped open his chest in a attempt to feel something, The Kree (a race of aliens that wanted to invade Earth) came across the Surfer’s body as they tried to make their way to earth which messed with their cloaking technology which allowed for the government to notice them and bombard them with nukes, the ones who survived were put in a prison camp where they’re all slowly dying of cancer, Nick Fury is a self confessed cannibal, Jean Grey is an underage prostitute who is killed by Nick Fury shortly before he kills himself, Galactus is dead, Rick Jones is a morphine addict after being affected by the gamma bomb that Bruce Banner saved him from, he also threatens to beat a woman named Marlo Chandler he is with and is verbally abusive towards her, Marlo Chandler is a junkie, Bruce Banner was hit by the Gamma bomb and did become the hulk but he’s nothing more then a giant mass of tumors, he is then captured and held by the government for experiments, Frank Castle/The Punisher was killed by the mob, Raven Darkholme/Mystique’s powers go haywire and cause her face to melt off after she stopped taking medicine that was meant to help her control a personality disorder she developed due to her powers, Eric Lehnsherr/Magneto’s powers malfunction and cause him to pull a plane in on himself which then explodes (while also pulling out the metal of people’s bodies that were in the area) Charles Xavier/Professor X is insane and keeps several mutants prisoner, Scott Summers/Cyclops burnt his family alive and has his eyes torched shut to stop his powers, Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat lost three feet of intestines after trying to escape, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler is mute and is eating his own tail, Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver lost all of his limbs due to his powers, Donald Blake (Thor’s original civilian identity) is just some crazy cult leader who suffered from a really bad shroom trip in which he claims to have seen the real Thor, Emma Frost is a cult leader who convinces the parents of children they have psychic powers, legally adopts the children and preforms “surgery” to unlock the “psychic power” but is really just taking their money, Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider is a stunt performer who eventually sets his head on fire and rides off into the desert, screaming until he dies what would’ve been the Fantastic Four (Reed Richards, Susan and Johnny Storm) (minus Ben Grimm) did go into space and had Victor Von Doom accompany them, they all die, Johnny is burned down to nothing but a set of bones, Susan was turned invisible and no one found her body until they tripped over it, Reed is a stretched out corpse, Victor’s organs were put on the outside of his body which were then hardened, Peter Parker/Spider-Man irradiated a spider, let it bite him and became deathly ill, eventually he was left alone naked in a cell to roll around in his own waste, Amara/The Enchantress is a porn star who ends up killing her manger, The Narrator and POV character of the story (a man named Philip Sheldon) who is trying to figure out “where it all went wrong” (and is the reason we learn about all of this horrid stuff as he was documenting it) not only met Peter Parker at one point but contracted his disease and eventually dies because of it, alone in the street, having accomplished absolutely nothing.
