Nick your the man too brother!
I have a Winchester fixed blade that my dad got me from Ace Hardware when I was 8 years old. It's a 4" drop point hunter with probably 420 steel, but it was my first real knife. In the family growing up, my dad's steak knife/dinner knife was always an old fixed blade, very much with the profile of the Snake Eater, that his step brother made in shop class. So this Winchester knife became my first dinner knife! Still have it and still use it for dinner.
Just crash that party bro. I’m glad you did it. I always like to see your perspective from your “desert outdoors” point of view. No shocker with the Mora there….
Great video James. Just what the doctor ordered. I love all my knives, but lately I've been enjoying my little LT Wright Pronghorn. Also, thanks for the shout out about the knife I made for you. I'm glad it has a place in your top 5 knives that make you cry happy tears 😢. LOL
Spyderco endura was my first “good” knife. As a teenage kid all I could afford were trashy gas station knives, when I got my hands on the endura I finally felt what a well made knife was supposed to be. 30 years and 100s of knives later the sickness continues.

Yet the Endura still gets carried

Love my Dragonfly, I seem to carry it the most. Delica is my turkey knife, endura is for big woods walks back up defense, and got 2 Native 5 salts for ocean fishing and mountain hunting. Can't go wrong with Spyderco for factory knives.

My first Endura disappeared while I was attending Grad School. Thirty years later while my mom was in the Hospital my mom asked me to get her ID at of her purse. Found my Endura

Thanks for taking us along in your memories. You are such a great story teller.
James thank you so much for sharing your story of your knives. Mine is a SAK Spartan. It was the EDC of my father and he gave it to me when I was nine, I’ll be 63 on Thursday. The SAK Spartan is still with me. It carries a lot of story that I treasure in my heart ❤️ Texas has a BIG space in my heart ❤️
The drip is unreal, literally flowing in the thumbnail.. lmao great video as usual.
👍🏻 Thanks for the tag
It’s possible Pete would love to live in Texas and have his very own cowboy hat. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Magnificent review on your favorite knives James, something most men and some lady's have in common. I like Mora's, Case,German eyes from Germany,I also like Buck knives as well. I wouldn't worry about getting invited for the knife tutorial, the tech companies are are most of the problems your having, slot of u tubers aren't getting shared. Never let rude people walk through your mind with dirty feet James, for I enjoy your channel and cuarvo's great music
Buck 102 Woodsman. My Bro got me one and one for himself in a Christmas several years ago.I was a young lad and It was my first ever good fixed blade.I don't use it much but it still makes me happy with all the memories I made using it.
Mora classic no.1, I was gifted one from the 1950's, the knife was garbage but the leather sheath was in great shape, bought the modern carbon version and use it as a neck knife 🤠
I've always respected Green River. Very functional, no frills.

Damn good knives
No way, I reckon Pete would totally dig your channel. The Uncle Randy type stuff is obviously light hearted silly business. You are a humble dude and just living the culture from your part of the world.
Dang! Thought you said 5 Wives that make me Happy! 😱😱😁😁
Nice to see the Russell knife mentioned as it is a bit under the radar. I do have the Kansbol and it is a great multi purpose knife. My favorite and most used knife, however, is really a kitchen knife - the Russell Chinese 2 x 7 cleaver. Love this knife for vegetables and soft meat cutting.
You have great taste in knives brother. I'm a big fan of Mora, Green River and Victorinox. I have a PKS Kephart XL that makes me happy too.
Pete’s an Aussie. We like everyone.
You are hilarious and I enjoy your channel
My favorite knife is one from Tractor supply. It cost $10 and I modified it slightly but it is beautiful and hasn't broken. It was only made the one year.
Great bunch of knives
Great knives right there. I have the kansbol and I got the one handed trekker and didn't want the serrations but you talked me into trying it out and it's one of my go to folding knives hands down!
Great video James! It's good to see a new tag video doing the rounds on the knife channels. Imma gonna stick my two cents in as well. 😜
Gotta say it would be a challenge to just pick five....I probably have fifteen or twenty knives that make me happy. My TOPS Armageddon is my favorite. The Tahoma Field Knife my number two. I never go out without those two. The last three could be my Bark River Prototype JBA, a handmade Iron Mistress Bowie, and my TOPS Brakimo. I have a cheap Maxam Sailors tool that I carry, and use every day. It makes me happy. And I really don’t have a use for my TOPS Wild Pig Hunter, but it gives me a great arm fuzzy feeling when I carry it. Yeah.... five isn’t gonna cut it. 😉
Thanks for the tag James, I will definitely participate with a few that are special to me. Cheers my friend
James, your the man brother, a simple man! An thats meant 100 % The righteous way!
Great selection especially the AdventureCraft. That knife and the Dark Timber tavi make me happy

Great review. Love your Chanel.
I like the production knife look it looks durable!
Great video and I love the channel brother. Keep it up!
My top 5 knives - mercator k55 in carbon with pocket clip, been my edc for over 2 years - fallkniven a1 -bark river bravo 1 lt in cruwear -puma jagdnicker reh - leatherman rebar
I live in New Zealand. We still have restrictions, lockdown, etc. 2020 never really ended here.
Jukeyard Fox, you guys are great! Can you do a video on how to maintain and sharpen knives?
I have never owned. The first. Or the last two. Though I intend to own one of the last. I recently got kansbol. Because I have owned the eldris for two years(EDC) I thought it was a stupid blade when I first saw it. But I bought one because of the hype. I love it! It is truly a EDC. Over 700 days. Up a ladder. 32+foot. With tool bag on. Makes it complicated to get to a knife in my pocket or on my belt. The neck knife is the thing I never knew I needed. I fell in love with the duplex grind. Which led me to your second knife. Phenomenal. And that’s all I have to say about that. I sincerely desire a one-handed tracker NS. Non-serrated. Great video as always James. God bless you bro. Please keep doing what you do. Thank you for the video. PS. The best knife I ever owned. Was a Cold Steel recon one Tonto point partial separation. With the access lock. They start making it almost 2 decades ago. Because they were sued. Best damn knife I ever owned. And it saved on my right hand. Burning construction for two decades. Balance. Strength. Durability. Reliability. Fluidity. I still have mine in a shadowbox I made. If the world ends. It’ll be back in my right pocket. And I will die with it.
The knife that makes me happy is the one I have on me when I need it. My favorite is my blind horse PLSK1 it’s my one tool option
This is a good list
My first knife was a Swiss Army knife it was given to me at around 5 years old. I used it for every thing still to this day Swiss Army knife just has a special place for me so much so Ii plan on gifting my step son one either for his 6th birthday or this Christmas. My only critique about victorianox is I wish they use better steel like cpm 3v or s35vn.
Love your videos dude👍
I like the prototype Snake Eater better than the final product; more raw looking and has better scandi grind for wood working, plus the sweep to the flat grind looks better for skinning and game processing. Fun video, Thank you.
Viva Tejas. Roll your eyes at that aussie. 😆 I live close to corpus christi tx. Been subscribed for a couple years. Love your journey of content.
I concur on the one handed trekker, good knife. Put a V grind on it and it almost gets rid of the serrations. My only gripe is finding one that opens smoothly, took me three tries.
Great picks!!! You and me hitch horses in knife styles! joker bushcrafter is a awesome knife in bohler n695 i hope you can try out some day. I've had a lot of knifes but still to this day the green river camp knife is a top knife for me.
have you tried the cold steel espada series or the kershaw strata ?
Great video as always bro

I love the old school design SnakeEater knife I would love to purchase & use it down under in bush I’m a bit like you love old frontier style gear, practical, not flash, but elegant in its own way keep up the good work love the videos I like the snippets of history keep it up for us buffs also could you maybe do a review on best books on frontier life skills, would love to read more about this subject also Native American wilderness skills, brilliant stuff guys keep it up 👍
knives that i get as a gift
Dammm love all the knives posted … i like the new version of your design I’ll buy one ☝️ hey James when are you making your way to California???
I have 2 favorites One is a little Winchester 2 blade folding knife, for urban carry. It's light and small, you can hardly feel it in ur pocket. The other is... of all knives, the Mora Eldris, it's my neck knife out on the Rez. Everyone always asks what it is, an arrowhead? I guess from their point of view, that's kinda what they see... I just thought that was cool...
It'll be hard for me to do a video like this and just bring it down to five knives I have so many that I love carrying and using but like you one of the knives I always come back to is a Victorinox one-handed trekker with the desert grip scales on it I got it after I moved to New Mexico and really started getting into your Channel you did an awesome review on the one handed trekker it's still one of my favorite videos when I contemplate what my next knife should be I do go through your knife reviews for inspiration
Nice show and tell there JF 🦊🔪 👍👌✌️🇺🇸
Where’s the garberg

As a big fan of the Green River belt knife and Finnish puukkos, i would prefer the "prototype" model over the final version. I think it's the perfect shape, you don't always need a guard on a knife... I'm pretty surprised your Green River belt knife didnt make it to the top 5! I really like that snakeskin micarta Green River! My personnal "Top 5 that makes me happy" would be: -My "updated" Green River belt knife (with new birch burl scales and sheath) -My custom Mini Hudson bay pattern knife with cocobolo handle (i call it "Kitsune" because it's mean Fox in japanese and the orange and black cocobolo looks like fox fur, even got an engraving of a fox on the leather sheath!) -My LT Wright Gen 5 saber grind -My Ahti Juhla puuko (Reminds me of my grandfather who was a fisherman) -My new GEC #86 Barlow in Rust bone, it's kinda new, but it's already one of my favorite folding knife!
I like your style, sir. F*** the "popular kid" knife channels. Subbed.
In the intense words of macho man to hulk hogan, tag me brother

TAGGED!
You located in El Paso ?
Just looking at this video I think the prototype has a better grind.
The sog agency and all sog but love your knifes
I like the finalized version best. I’ve followed you a long time. When you were designing the knife, I was one of the people that suggested the guard and I think you and Woody nailed it. I apologize for not buying one yet. I haven’t been able to work for awhile due to health. I plan on buying one in the near future. I learned about Woody Smith through your channel and have followed him since. I really like his work. BTW……. I just noticed that I have been unsubscribed from your channel!!!! Why would the shadow banners target you?!!! I fixed that problem. Love your channel buddy!!!!
I judge sentimental value as knives I will never sell. My first Mora I bought 45+ years ago. It was my 2nd fixed blade but lost the first many years back. A buck 110 style Spanish made Aitor folding knife given to me by an ex. My military issued SAK. It's the model Pioneer but a bit more robust. My Tramontina bolo machete (I prefer the Latin machete now) because that made the change some 25+ years ago on a canoe trip in Scandinavia leaving the ax/hatchet at home and changed to machetes ever since for bushcraft & survival. When I started the Bushcraft Associations back in 2011 I wanted a very robust but budget knife for the instructors and clients so after a search ended up with the Hultafors GK. I still use that same one they send me for testing in 2011. And I do have a lot of more expensive knives and test knives also but they have no sentimental value to me. They don't have the story behind it.
Found your channel from pm101 years ago. Proud of you. God bless brother 🙏
No GNS 😱
I noticed on some of your videos you like to do characters, how about doing one of Jack Sparrow! That would be interesting.😂😁👍🇺🇸🇺🇸( Gud video)
I'm going to have to Invest 💰in a Good knife I've been hearing alot about the SHTF lately if you know what I mean.
1:08 LOL 😂😂😂
Post PS. Never trust a man with clean hands, clean boots and clean pick up. God bless you all!
😢😢😢
👍👍
...
If I could have 3 factory knives period just to get things done in life, it would be Victorinox Hiker, Spyderco Native 5 Salt plain edge, and Ka-Bar Mark 1. Anything else would be saws, hatchets and machetes. .......of course us knife people don't stop there...
😺😀😀🙂
