Missed the most important bit about Habring: Richard was the man who created the IWC Doppelchronograph, and is more or less considered a wizard when it comes to the Valjoux 7750. Matter of fact, that deadbeat seconds reference you called out is a dramatically reworked 7750. Pretty neat.

So glad to see Maen getting some run. I’ve been scooping them up for stupid cheap the last couple years and I love showing them to watch guys.
Sarpaneva out of Finland has some amazingly beautiful moon phase watches. I personally love the Lunations Black Ruthenium and the Näkki Harvest Moon. Thank you for all the great content you create! Keeps me interested in drawing my own watch designs!
Yes! We are now officially in the educational era of Nico Leonard. Been waiting for something like this, not just the Rolexes, Pateks & APs, sure they’re great but after a while it just gets samey.

Great video. I'm so glad that you started with Maen but you left out the model that really stands out, the Manhattan 37, a tribute to the Vacheron Constantin 2215 of 1975. I ordered it in May and received it this week. For US$700, it compares well with Longines models that cost three to four times the price and is unbelievably elegant and has a stunning dial.
Thanks nico for sharing information
So happy to see Kurono here ! I absolutely love the MORI !
Hi Nico, another very good vid from you, love that type of content fron the beggining. Watchbrand you might never heard of is Balticus. That's independent watch brand from my homecountry, Poland. Zelos is another kickstarter gem. Swiss movements, exotic materials, at affordable prices. Meteorite dials, a dial made from parts from the sr-71 blackbird, "damascus" titanium cases. Cool watches for sure
Nico, thank you for all the great content! You provide great context and history on models and brands which are my favorite parts. Most of what you cover is out of my $500 price range so I’m curious what your thoughts are of Lorier, the husband and wife brand out of NYC. I found their watches by chance and love their old school style. Just bought the Hyperion Skyward GMT.
Definitely already knew about all of them...still, great show Nico! Goed gedaan man!
Hi Nico ! Love from India 🇮🇳 Have you heard of a brand named Titan? They are very popular in here, cheapest yet brilliant movements I would imagine. I have a watch from 2018 for less than 10 GBP ( INR 1000) and it is still accurate! Also would like your opinion on Svalbard watches !

Hi Nico and the team , always enjoy your channel and because of your content I have recently purchased my first quality watch ( Tudor black bay Pepsi) absolutely love it thanks for the recommendation, would you in the future be possibly considering watch manufacture if so I’m in , keep up doing what you’re doing just quality.
I love the enthusiasm for Indy brands here. Right on!
Love Maen. Was hoping to keep that brand to myself. Not easy as they truly make beautiful watches. The Manhattan is mu favorite. I know its based of a Vacheron Constantin model from the 70's. The finishing is insane for the money I dont know how they do it and stay in business. The Brooklyn 36 with the creme dial is top notch. I plan on owning them all. Only other brand that has my attention like this right now is Lorier. While Lorier uses mostly miyota movements I like how they may use 3 or 4 iconic vintage pieces and select different elements from each to create a new piece that is all their own. It just works imo.

Amazing stuff, Nico! Keep bringing these rather unknown brands to light for us. You made me curious and I googled all these watches and they are class. Chronoswiss Heritage design reminds me of A. Lange & Sohne. I'd like to add one more less known watch brand to this list: Christopher Ward. Their watches look beautiful.

the brand i rlly miss in your videos in general is Montblanc!!! they not only produce outstanding writing instruments but also absolutely stunning and, compared to the big shots, affordable watches. Being from Biel Switzerland which is the mecca of watch making, i know that repair statistics have montblanc on the leaderboard with other brands like ap.. meaning they have the least reported mechanical issues.. Rolex is far worse on that list. Also Montblancs history with Rieussec, the "inventor" of the chronograph is mind blowingly unpopular. Plz bring a video!
@Mr_Paw_revised
3 ай бұрын
Montblanc is really Minerva, very old Swiss brand, known for their incredible movements. They were one of the watchmakers, that were pushing the industry forward. After being acquired in the end by Richemont, Minerva’s legacy continues under Montblanc brand.
Finally Chronoswiss getting some love! Been a fan of theirs since the early 2000s.
I saw Maen in person at Chicago Windup. Great watches and great people!
Dont think you have heard about Bruvik. A Norwegian watch brand with swiss made watches. Many of their pieces are absolutly stunning. Rune Bruvik (the founder) takes his inspiration from the Norwegian landscape and history. The price is not bad and he uses some very good movements from ETA and Sellita
Nico you are the man. I love watches but way too poor for a proper one. Mad love to you and the team you have an invaluble service thank you. Love the content and the education.

Seems quite inspired by this year's GPHG nominees, not a bad thing tho! Also, the comment section is a gold-mine for cool brands. I personally enjoy seconde/seconde ' s collabs (mainly on his insta account) and the brands he works with, e.g isotope, maen which was featured here and some other cool ones. Ikepod is a cool brand with very interesting designs and affordable prices that comes to mind besides all the above. Great video, looking into a Behrens Constell now....
Hi Nico! I have loved watches since my childhood but have learnt a lot about watches from you. My passion for watches has grown so much. My go to daily wear is currently an ARAGON. Talk about good value for money!! Bulletproof-they take everything thrown at them. Great designs, tried and true movements that include both Japanese and Swiss models, and mind boggling pricing for what you get.
Hey Nico, let me tell you about a brand from India - HMT Watches. They started producing watches in 1961 in collaboration with Citizen and soon started making them completely in-house. The case, crystal, movements and even the spring and pinions were made in-house and dare I say they produce the worlds cheapest mechanical and automatic watches till now. However the factories were closed in 2016 and they produce very few watches with what they have now. Nothing is perfect about these watches but man they have a legacy of being India's first home brand.
Proof of me wasting time on watch videos is me having heard all the brands you mentioned in the video...
