    Joining DBO Academy was a game changer for me.Just 1 and a half weeks and I aleeady feel more confident and I have a little bit more creativity behind the drums! It's a difference when you put the work and don't have a plan,messing with different things from the internet and putting the work with courses that are progressive and fun! Love DBO!

    I love how Gabe sometimes just sit down and talk things to musicians who want play pro or be in a band or wanted to play they first gig like in this video. And it’s seams so simple. But at the same time needed so much! Now I had two albums, even if it’s small and not well known or world wide known, with my band. But when I was younger I’d like to now such things that Gabe talk in his videos 😀

    Personally I would disagree, a simple beat much more effective in a way. People can feel the groove and rhythm much better with a simple beat.

  • @kryptone9785

    @kryptone9785

    @@zefunkya that is very true, the real skill is recognising what sounds better and making choices. Songwriting as well is a larger skill than to actually be able to play very well. Some of the best and most recognisable songs are literally dead simple.

    I reached out to some guys 6 years ago and they wanted me to audition well I had no CD or anything to learn the songs before hand . And they expected me to know the song before hand not very professional in my eyes on their end so anyways I played but didn’t get the gig surprise surprise right ? It’s all because they didn’t give me the right preparation.

    I love that your dynamic mistake was playing too soft, because ~that's~ always the problem. lol [I hope it's clear how good natured this comment is meant. I'm 100% with you on the importance of dynamics, but it seems like "too loud" is the stereotypical dynamic problem for drummers and so your too soft example just made me giggle. Great video! Thanks for the thoughts!]
