    - Waking up on schedule and getting up while overcoming that resistance really is a huge boost that will probably get you through 50% of your to-do list. That was my experience anyways. - “Fighting the dragon” (eating the frog) first will get you through the other 50%. I gotta agree on that aswell. The way you worded it was quite wonderful actually. - Circadian rhythm (sunlight and sunset) I’ve noticed, boosts my mood so much. It helps me avoid depressive days. - Self-reflection and iteration is literally your steering wheel. I’ve felt this on my monk mode period aswell. Nevertheless i think i need therapy but good video 😬

    Thanks, Anthony, you're truly valued and appreciated. All of this applies to me at the moment. Feeling unmotivated and blah, need to focus and take action more. I have not defined "winning the day" for myself. Need to stop hitting the snooze. Haven't been identifying my "daily dragon," going to do that feels powerful. Need to fight that dragon early in the day. Additionally, being scattered, chasing endless new ways of doing things instead of being consistent with what already works. Finding new ways gives dopamine pleasure. Decided to stop that; it's wasting enormous time. Need to get more sunshine and walk in nature more to boost my mood. Using my values as a scorecard is great; I need to implement that ASAP. Thanks for helping me live a more productive, meaningful life. I need to change in 2024 because my life sucks right now!

    My mom taught me to always get up at the same time, early, and make my bed. She also was a believer in sunlight. Very early in the morning, she raised the shades and opened the curtains. She said, "Sunlight is healing." I still do this every day.

    Sleep early wake up early also even if they say they sleep early do they really fall asleep or stay awake tossing and turning / constantly waking up in the middle of the night. I realised a while ago I would wake up tired even when I went to sleep early because my quality of sleep sucked so that may be a factor.

    Walking. I started walking every single day outdoors during my lunch break. This eventually turned into walking while listening to self help books, which lead to more and more beneficial things. Week by week I began compounding on healthier and more productive choices. Eventually things like these on my to-do list were just part of my every day life. Start very small and see where the snowball effect takes you.

I took that with me to boarding school when I left home at 11 years old, in the military to multiple combat zones, as a diplomat in the State department stationed in over 80 countries, and as a 7 figure entrepreneur. Not trying to flex, just saying anywhere can be paradise, even a prison cell, if you decide you want it to be.

    Anthoney Vicino, I decided to watch this video because it reads 5 habits that will fix 93% of your problems. from age 17 to age 57 years of age I got up early went to work did the best I could while at work I set a goal to be retired at 60 but I retired at 57 years of age because I was financially able to. So, doing small things over and over helps one hang in there for the big rewarding parts of a persons life. This is just one persons point of view, but I can now sleep in because I stay focus for 40 years of my life. Now, I get to sleep in no more going to work because I do not need to. thanks for the video.

    I agree that morning routine is essential. Get up early, make your bed, eat breakfast and get ready. The ''cheat'' day, that varies only slightly from the norm, should be pre-designated, like a sunday. Planning your day the night before is also helpful. I used to write lists the night before of key tasks that I was going to do the next day and even sometimes break down the schedule.

    Is this why farmers around the world get things done? I was in Vietnam visiting family after 45 years. They had comments of me getting up later. While my uncle is already up at 5am. Building a bathroom and home for his daughter/granddaughter from 6 am to 6pm straight: well with lunch and dinner. Some days till 8 Pm! I’m having hard time getting up. My Vietnamese blood is not strong. Or I don’t have mind set as my uncle and mom!

    I feel sometimes low vibe in my work but when i realize why i see that those are periods i have nothing exciting in my own deveopment going on, so i look for "great things to do" in my work such as to be really good in it but when its not always possible due to me being human and pending results from co-workers and such, and when its not possible i feel bad. I am returning with this insight to build my dream body the dream goal i left behind and to achieve it further then ever along with getting my own new income going. Sounds like exciting stuff to be cheerful at even when the day at the desk is cloudy! Life insight gained! * jumping and clapping with legs *

    I never ever ever ever figure out how to WIN the day. Oh yeah I have to do lists… boring unmotivating lists that make me get under the blanket with my cat after I hit the snooze button. I’m starting here now, but I see value in all of them. Funny but at the end of the day I try to review wins in bed, but they are always unplanned hap hazard events. I’m always surprised. I’ll bet winning planned wins will be a lot more fun and motivating. Especially if you have wins and victories daily. Thanks Anthony. Always appreciate the content. I’ll check back in a week!

    Good video man, especially the sunlight part. One point I'd put a disclaimer on, however. For people who struggle with any form of executive dysfunction like me... Fighting the big dragon first thing in the morning can be extremely daunting, which leads to procrastination, guilt, and burnout. At least for me personally, I've found doing all the small things first makes the big things way easier.

    I would also define winning as not just accomplishing something, but feeling satisfied or happy and doing things I find to be enjoyable that day. For me to move towards thoughts and activities that bring me content, enjoyment or whatever I feel I can attain for an improved mental state that day.

    The last ten years I've hit most of these goals because I got an active dog whom I love. Walks, waking up, reflecting on what you've done... Taking care of someone else who likes to be outside and get up early has really helped me. It also helped me to be a confident relaxed alpha and I get be my playful kid self with my dog *Also, as a Pacific Northwesterner who mostly, happily goes into mole mode every winter, I've found vitamin d and occasional sunlamp use can really help if you're getting depressed for no obvious reason.

    First of all thanks Anthony for this video - even though most of the things are often mentioned in countless books and tutorials, the way you explained it all got to me on a different level for some reason. I'm definitely changing the wording from Eating the Frog to Slaying the Dragon - I love it! I've got a question though, because I'm not sure I understand one thing correctly - it's about Fighting the Dragon and Winning the Day - aren't these usually the same thing? In other words, does it mean you should always start the day with getting the most important thing done? Reason I ask is, usually when I plan my day and decide what's the Frog/Dragon, getting that one thing done counts as "Winning the Day"... and I very rarely start doing that first, because when I cross this off my list I noticed that I somehow tend to think about having completed the work day already and I let my mind do other, usually not that productive things. Can't say this is a bulletproof tactic for me really though and I'm willing to try a different method, especially now that I've started questioning if this is really the right way to plan my day... Have you got any real-life examples how these two could differ?

  • @AnthonyVicino

    @AnthonyVicino

    3 ай бұрын

    Great question. They are often tied together pretty closely. Typically winning the day will include a few more things than just the battle with your biggest dragon. Slaying the Dragon might be: Write 2,000 words towards new book Whereas Winning the Day might be: 1. Slay Dragon 2. Get 6,000 steps 3. Spend less than an hour on social media Slaying the Dragon is part of Winning the Day... and depending on the day, it might be the only thing you really need to accomplish to feel victorious overall.
