People need to understand exactly what you said and that is to take your safety into their own hands. The military isn’t going to save you, the police and fire will get there when they can after their done being understaffed and over called.

Spent a career in Alaska law enforcement...in rural road areas even when we run code, it often takes us over an hour to get to you...or just as likely you can't call us because of cell service. Off-road system? There's been times weather may not allow our response for a day or two...we can't help anyone if we're stuck in a storm, we're not magic or you're weathered in. So yeah, shit hits the fan, but you better do your best until we get there.

With 16 shells fully loaded and 2 shots per pump, it's quite formidable. And that is backed up by an also fully loaded, locked up Glock 34 in 9mm with the same accessories. Great video with some excellent advice!

I love your message at the end about being a positive change. The last damn thing we need is the gun community leading the charge in to crazy town (like many have been for the last several years). SHTF preparation should be something we aspire to do, but never use. Not something we do, then aspire to find an excuse to use. We need to be the reasonable people in the room, not the assholes agitating conflict over every single culture war nonsense issue, then screaming about our guns whenever someone disagrees with us on something or something doesn't go our way.

I feel like the 9mm PCC should have been mentioned. It's SUCH a versatile platform. It can Essentially replace the 22LR. Cheap 9mm ammo runs about 25cents a round. They're small, lightweight, easy to shoot and they can do everything from training, plinking, defense, even Hunting if you know what you're doing. And small enough you can stuff one into a backpack and go unnoticed. I have a ton of firearms for different purposes but I feel like the PCC is a pretty viable 1 gun option.

You mentioned something you just can't overemphasize. Casual shooters need to know that training doesn't just mean taking a course. It means practicing frequently. I had extensive training and over 50 years of shooting experience. When I was forced into retirement by a heart attack last year, I just could not shoot for well over a year. The first time I got back out to the range, I couldn't even hit the target. I didn't even realize for a while that I had slipped into using a grip, stance and shooting techniques I haven't used since the 1970s. My breathing was wrong, and I couldn't stay on the target. All my old instructors and buddies were right - shooting is truly a perishable skill. Another important point is having a few .22s to teach your kids. I was glad you included that. All of my kids learned on .22s.

That's really good, man. You don't need to necessarily disassemble/assemble super often with your firearms if you're doing a breakdown/cleaning properly, but it's great to build familiarity. Idk what kind of firearms you have, and no one needs to know, but I hope you're not stressing the budget if you have higher priced calibers. If you want to work on marksmanship, I would suggest higher volume at the range with a .22. With a high quality rifle, you can fire any .22 ammo without problems. I personally have an hk416 and it has Always shot sweet. First 500 rounds were total budget bullets and not a single one misfires, whereas with my ruger .22 LR pistol, I would misfire on 4 of 10 rounds with the same ammunition

Failing all else, (if it's a 10/22) buy a new Ruger BX trigger group and drop it in - two pins - it comes with the extractor installed. But I'd call Ruger first. Heck, I'm an FFL, and when my wife's Mark II broke the hammer strut assembly I called Ruger to order a new one. While hunting in N Canada, my semi-auto shotgun ran into mechanical issues, and it became a very expensive single shot. I got back home, fixed it, and sold it, and bought a Mossberg 500 and a maverick 88. My Maverick 88 has been dropped in a swamp, ran over by a pick up, been in countless blizzards, gotten soaking wet in the rain, and gummed up with mud. After countless upland bird hunts and waterfowl hunts, It still works flawlessly after 15 years. I highly recommend them.

I can agree with everything except the Mossberg Mav 88. I don't think I will ever repurchase another Mossberg. I bought a Mav 88 Security a few years ago. The 3rd shell I fired through it, the extractor broke. I called Mossberg to see if they would replace it and was told no, it had probably failed due to improper maintenance and storage of the firearm. Mind you, I bought this shotgun at a gun store and immediately took it to the firing range inside this gun store. The time between purchasing the firearm and the extractor breaking was maybe 20 minutes, at the most. After battling them to get them to stick to their warranty for a few weeks, I shot it with my 300 win mag a couple times and cut it up into pieces. Spend the extra money and buy a Remington 870 express tactical. usually in the $400 range.

A/C guy, same. It is safer that way, most people are good people and in the event a bad person does something the more people with firearms that know how to use them safely the less likely the bad man is going to get away with victimizing anyone.

The Hi-point CF 380 is identical to their 9mm Hi-point, except for the barrel and spring. Even the 9mm mag is identical to the 380 mag. You can pick up the barrel and spring for 25 bucks, allowing you to convert the .380 to 9mm without buying a whole new gun. The 10mm Hi-point can also fire the .40 s&w without any mods. I nominate you to be our 2nd amendment ambassador! Extremely knowledgeable factual advice and levelheaded regarding arms! Theres too many sensitive people making laws about how we defend ourselves today with no real sense of reality, what it takes to keep loved ones safe. Counting on the police to get there in time significantly lowers your survival chances to likely 50/50 or worse You get it great video brother! 👍👍👍

For the .22 I personally like the heritage revolver because they are very customizable and cheap but reliable and well made. They are also an amazing gun to start out with and are ambidextrous. and easy to clean. i would very much like for Honest Outlaw to make a video that focuses on the heritage revolver if you guys haven't already.

Excellent video! You left out on shotgun gauge and that is the 410. My Great grandmother was an excellent shot and she always kept a 410 at her bedside and now I have that little single shot 410. My wife has taken over my Benelli M4 though and with the 7 round tube she’s very good!

My psa's have thousands of rounds through them. My first was a bca upper that didnt make it 700 rounds before i sent it back. Too many problems to list here but they were cool enough to give me a refund like 6 months later. I can't imagine anyone else doing that.

The full size cz p09 is my go to. It’s a great carry gun. Nice stock trigger, great trigger pull in single action and amazing when hammers cocked and in double action. 20+1 round magazines, great sights that can be charged with light to be used in the night

Good Choice. I like the P-07 as it is a little more compact. I'm a big CZ fan. The CZ 75 or 85.

Excellent words of wisdom at the end of this video Chris! Appreciated words good sir. Hopefully more and more people will come around to think that way. It all starts at home.

As always great video. My favorite calibers are .22., .38, 9 mm, .45 in pistols and .22, 223, 7.62 x 39, and .308. I have most of the guns you talked about. My wife has a 20 gage semi, which is just for home defense. I agree with the .22 caliber practice guns. Cheap, reliable and good teaching tools. Thanks again for the great video

Great advice Chris! Based on your reviews I have acquired over the past 9 months a CZ P-10F, Hi-Point 995TS and a Mauser 1911 22lr (for the wife as she is intimidated by sound and recoil). Keep up the great content.

@@AJadedLizard It has the look of a Colt 1911 A1 Government. It is made in Germany, probably by GSG, as aftermarket parts are the same for both.

Chris is by far the best 2A advocate that we have. Instead of focusing on divisiveness, he focuses on positivity. He delivers truth is a manner that makes me proud. I'm a Black Chicagoan who enjoys hunting/shooting and outdoors. I also work in law enforcement and I'm so proud of the way this guy handles business and reaches out to people across the entire spectrum. Great job, Chris!

Thank you for drumming home the idea of keeping yourself, your family and those around you safe, and then giving ways to do just that. That seems to get lost in translation with so many people in this awesome time we are living in.
