The best thing about KOReader is you can expand it to suit your needs. For instance, you can make scripts to sync the books and share everything (recent files, bookmarks, notes, progress...) among different devices wirelessly. Rsync is very powerful.

Hi Stefan, thank you for the great video, Koreader is so awesome and I like that you are using Clara 2E for your video, I think an e-reader with a 6-inch screen size needs KOReader to enhance the reading experience. May I suggest you make a video about reading pdf using KOReader? There are settings for reading PDFs such as flowing text in PDF, cropping the margins, forced OCR, and so on. I think the video will help viewers to read PDFs pleasantly with KOReader. Thanks!

Some of my favourite KOReader features (some not mentioned here): 1) customisable gestures, 2) custom hidden flows (helps hide unwanted content from the main flow of the book) 3) profiles

Looks really nice, im tempted to install it on my clara 2e if it works fine and dont ruin the device. I quess the warranty will not cover it then if you install a 3rd party software on it. Are there any major problems and bugs that you experienced ?

No no bugs at all. It’s a huge learning curve first and much of setting up but after that it’s awesome.

Thank you so much for this video. I'm waiting on my first ever e-reader, Libra Colour to come in. You had me with all the stats. That alone, for me would be a reason why I would be interested in installing Koreader. Would the stats work only with Kepub books, or do they work with epub books as well?

KOReader is not supported on kobo Libra color yet. KOReader doesn’t use kepub. It uses epub and a lot more formats. Stats works with all formats it supports.

You shouldn’t have bought a color e-reader as your first though. They are not as crisp and sharp as a real black and white e-reader. The screen is much darker. The only time you should buy a color e-reader is if you planning to only read color content.

Well, hello man. I just want to know if there's a way to uninstall Koreader from a kobo libra 2 because I'm planning to buy a used one and it has it. I'm just a bit scared for some reason because I want to use my kobo normally like the old one that I had. I'd really appreciate your help. Also, I just want to know if I factory reset the device that will remove it? Or I should follow a pattern or something.

If you don’t want to use KOReader just don’t start it or if it’s started just exit from the menu. Then you can use your kobo normally. KOReader is just an app that you can start and close when ever you want. If you really want to uninstall it you can simply remove .adds/koreader If you want to remove the nickel menu completely it will uninstall itself if you create a file called uninstall in .adds/nm

Yes it’s faster but please note that e-ink is always slower than LCD displays. I haven’t tried to translate so I can’t answer that question.

@@svartling It's not always slow, and i can't figure out why and when it happens. Translation is very important for me, in pocketbook you can translate paragraphs. I like kobo very much, i hope they will add support for gdrive/dropbox, export for highlights, my words list, and proper translation. I've chosen kobo to support smaller companies. I will never use an e-reader without KOReader. Fortunately you can install it on Pocketbook devices too.
