5 Great Scottish Golf Courses You Probably Haven't Heard Of // Scotland Ep. 15

Спорт

The 'leftover' bits are always better the next day. It was a long trip through Scotland and although we played 20-something odd courses in 16-odd days, we want to give every course a little love. Enjoy this collection that spans the whole trip and tune in next week for the Un/Official finale!

Your view on golf videos is superb. The first Random golf video I have watched. Could be the slant for Scottish tourism but a lot of fun was had by you guys.

Kyle Peebles, Panmure was where they sent Ben Hogan on his only visit to The Open Championship. He came to practise at Carnoustie, but was sent away, as it was only for members as the Pros had their week during the Open! He fell in love and made some suggestions to alter the course. All of these were taken up! The crest is an upside down scallop shell. The oil company, Shell wrote to Panmure telling them the scallop shell symbol was patented, and they had to remove it or face a lawsuit. Panmure wrote back saying that they had been granted it by the Earl of Monifeith, several hundred years before, so could the Oil company change their emblem.

It is a great place and I am well aware of the history. I went to Scotland 9 years ago and was fortunate enough to tee it up at Panmure and it was my second favorite course I played that trip, next to The Old Course. The beauty of Panmure took my breath away and the golf kept my attention with an incredible variety of holes and shots. I hope to get back to Scotland one day I will certainly be back to Panmure.

Best thing about Scotish golf, even the small courses you've never heard of are absolutely class. They're in amazing condition. It's like it's a matter of national pride for the greens keepers to present their course to the best it can be!

We played Montrose GC in 2016 and Alan was the starter. He was every bit as enthusiastic then about new visitors to the course, a true gentleman. Great videos.

Don’t be put off by the comparatively low green fees compared to the big ticket courses (Inflated for the international visitor), there are plenty of £50-£100 a round courses in Scotland that will be just as challenging, fun and scenic for any visitors. Great to see some of these highlighted.

Besides the amazing golf courses... I’d have to say ...my favorite is listening to Stuart Kerr, Scottish dude that can just drop into any accent and imitate us Crazy Americans...and that he doesn’t know the local get around customs of Scotland. 🤣 great stuff👍🏻

Complicated feelings about this series. Fantastic courses, great array of known & unknown. My bucket list added a couple of courses. Crew seemed tired, maybe even stressed at times. Galloway was a great addition, some joy there. Keep it up Erik, don't burn out!

Enjoyed EVERY ONE of these so much... With all the muck now on this website, it's refreshing getting really solid "longform" (bit of an eye roll here but 15 minutes is now long) content. Thanks Eric & Team. Can't wait to visit Scotland one day!

Amazing film Erik, the whole series has been incredible. I will no doubt watch them over and over and living in England I will go and play a lot of these courses. I love links golf, the air, the views, the quality of the courses and the people who are used to tourists coming and are welcoming. The best films I've watched on KZread and will only be matched when you do Ireland soon ! Thanks to Colt, Stu, Christian and Matthew Galloway as well, hope I've not missed anyone out ! Can't wait for next week's film pal

Wow.....As always many thanks. So easy to get side tracked by the golf, the courses and the beauty. Taking it a step further and including the histories of these amazing places, just awe inspiring. Entire forests have lived and died while some of these courses have endured. Makes one wonder.......Will there be an Augusta in 200, 300, 400 years. What will it look like? Thanks again to you and your crew.......Wonderful!

Two other shoutouts for the area close to Inverness: Nairn (stunning championship course, hosted the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup, and will have the Amateur Championship very soon) and Moray (a real gem that visitors often miss, next to the sea, it has a beautiful final hole that visually looks very similar to 18 on the Old Course. And it’s next to RAF Lossiemouth - very cool having the fighter jets fly low overhead during the round). Great series, loved these videos! New places discovered, courses played and friends made - amazing.
