@@zoe.languagesmarım günün birinde bende Çinceyi öğrenebilirim.🥰 Teleffuz olarak çok zorlayacak gibi geliyor. Hep j ve ş vurguları ağır basıyor sanki çince diyalogları dinleyince. Türkçe bilmeyen biri için önce sert bir dil gibi geliyordu diyenler oluyor p, ç, t, k ile bittiği için çoğu kelimeler.

Favourite way of practising, since forever: Listening to Disney songs I already know well, in a foreign language, and going through them until I understand and can sing them by heart. It’s like walking around with a handy lyrical dictionary in your mind. I also always love breaking down lyrics from my favourite foreign pop artists, but tbh, nothing sticks like “Colors of the Wind”, haha!

Daily review is a really useful habit for me to learn English. I would put new words and phrases from my daily reading and listening into my new vocabulary notebook, and review them every morning and evening. after a period of time, I found my language ability made comprehensive progress gradually. noticing improvement is also a critical force to push me to move forward. it is a healthy circle.

Suggestions 1) To find website or book reference grammars in 2 or more target languages to compare them, point by point, in generic common words that most or all use. To quickly review basic syntax, noun cases, verb conjugations before planned sentences, if needed. But for each languages unique culture words, we need to find articles, videos, websites, books to explain these untranslatable, only explainable, words. Examples--Chinese yin & yang, qi German--gemutlichkeit Portuguese-- saudade , jeito brasileiro, Russian-- Russkiya. ?? Russian soul, etc. Zhu ni hao yunqi!! Viele Gluck!!

The self talk exercise works brilliantly for me, I’m currently learning German and I’m struggling with the Nominative Dativ and Akkusativ stuff more than anything else really so I mainly focus on that when revising but something which helps you learn new words has to be German music. I listen primarily to an artist called CRO and then translate the songs I like, works a charm.

I am currently learning Turkish and Persian. And I very much agree with your points, especially the talking to yourself, building sentences and looking up words immediately and saving them. I also use online notebooks/notes so that I can quickly save links or take photos and scan text and they are available on all my devices wherever I am. Sometimes I take voice notes which I will afterwards transfer into written notes. I find that handwriting helps a lot to memorize, so most of my notes are handwritten on my ipad.

hey love it will be amazing if you can make a video about where to literally begin with when you have decide to learn a language like what's the first thing we need to target? should we start with learning the basic words? alphabets? greetings? grammar? where to actually begin with, I hope you get what I'm trying to say, its like one day you wake up and decide you wanna learn a language what's the first thing you should do and then gradually proceed. it will be absolutely amazing if you can reply to this I wanna learn Chinese but I don't know where to actually begin with.
