This community is so positive and uplifting! 🌈 Thank you Zoe for these tips and for being such a ray of sunshine! Lots of love from Italy 🌞🌞
Zoe, you are amazing. I just wanted to say that whenever I feel unmotivated to study, I come here and watch one of your videos! Thanks for being so sweet and inspiring 😘
Thank You so much for keeping me inspired to learn when i was really struggling with Japanese. Your videos are always so inspiring (certainly by far more than all the toxic communities on discord for sure), and i'm sure everyone really appreciates your effort to make a positive impact on the language learning community. Keep making great videos and good luck with your PhD
Favourite way of practising, since forever: Listening to Disney songs I already know well, in a foreign language, and going through them until I understand and can sing them by heart. It’s like walking around with a handy lyrical dictionary in your mind. I also always love breaking down lyrics from my favourite foreign pop artists, but tbh, nothing sticks like “Colors of the Wind”, haha!
Hey Zoe, ich fand es sehr interessant mal ein Video mit deutschen Elementen zu sehen und auch, dass du Deutsch immer weiter lernst, aber auch noch nicht perfekt sprichst. Das gibt mir echt wieder Mut und Hoffnung, da ich momentan etwas struggle mit meinen Sprachen und das Gefühl habe, dass ich einfach momentan feststecke beim Sprachenlernen. Danke für das Video!!
Thank you for this fantastic video, Zoe. When I watch your videos, I feel myself so happy and strong. You always inspire and motivate myself. You are great person. I hope I can be a polygot like you ❤❤🥰🥰
your tips are amazing, thank for sharing. i started learning Germany 3 months ago but i am not consistent ( on & off ) but i will keep learning. the journey of learning language is amazing but it need huge amount of being patient and perseverance and to be self dedicated to your self.
You are an inspiration. I learn quite a bit from you, and I love listening to you speak.
Hello Zoe. I have been watching your videos for about 2 weeks because I had a big problem communicating in English and French. I organized myself taking your advice into account and I am improving remarkably. Thank you so much for your helpful content. God bless you!
Daily review is a really useful habit for me to learn English. I would put new words and phrases from my daily reading and listening into my new vocabulary notebook, and review them every morning and evening. after a period of time, I found my language ability made comprehensive progress gradually. noticing improvement is also a critical force to push me to move forward. it is a healthy circle.
Hii Zoe❤️ I just got to know you and your channel through KZread videos and they inspired me alot. Hi Zoe! Like other commenters, I'm really interested in how you take, organize, and review notes -- I think I'm doing pretty OK myself, but I'd love to see how you manage that, especially since you study so many languages while doing PhD work at the same time, so your note-management skills must be top-notch! Thank you for yet another lovely video ❤ Love from Poland!

Suggestions 1) To find website or book reference grammars in 2 or more target languages to compare them, point by point, in generic common words that most or all use. To quickly review basic syntax, noun cases, verb conjugations before planned sentences, if needed. But for each languages unique culture words, we need to find articles, videos, websites, books to explain these untranslatable, only explainable, words. Examples--Chinese yin & yang, qi German--gemutlichkeit Portuguese-- saudade , jeito brasileiro, Russian-- Russkiya. ?? Russian soul, etc. Zhu ni hao yunqi!! Viele Gluck!!
Thank you Zoe, I love learning song letters

The self talk exercise works brilliantly for me, I’m currently learning German and I’m struggling with the Nominative Dativ and Akkusativ stuff more than anything else really so I mainly focus on that when revising but something which helps you learn new words has to be German music. I listen primarily to an artist called CRO and then translate the songs I like, works a charm.

Nominative Dative etc.are just firnlmal words for Subject,.Direct Object,. Indirect Object, Prepositional.Object? etc. Why not use these understandable words??!!

Wikipedia probably has. French reference grammar website (&book? You can then find same for English, then compare each point. Beware when equivalent word or words in each language have different no. of words. In.books, articles,.websites, videos only places to find unique words in each language that are explainable in sentences, paragraphs, etc. but not translatable in 1 or 2 words----- Chinese Yin Yang, Portuguese saudade,Brazilian jeito brasileiro,, etc. Zhu, ni, hao yunqi!!!
Hi Zoe, as always really good video and tips 🥰. I would definitely like a video on more of your active recall and note taking. Also you mentioned you were preparing notes before your tandem partner session, do you prepare topics before speaking to a tandem partner?
Me encantan tus vídeos! y me aportan mucho valor! un abrazo😀
Wooww I really like the fourth tip! I never tried it. I really like excerieces that are easy and this seems like a simple exercise
I read a lot in language learning + spending some time on a grammar based course. Right now learning French grammar again in another book for 5th time, each time I finish a grammar course, I get another more detailed course instead of reviewing the same old course again and again.

I am currently learning Turkish and Persian. And I very much agree with your points, especially the talking to yourself, building sentences and looking up words immediately and saving them. I also use online notebooks/notes so that I can quickly save links or take photos and scan text and they are available on all my devices wherever I am. Sometimes I take voice notes which I will afterwards transfer into written notes. I find that handwriting helps a lot to memorize, so most of my notes are handwritten on my ipad.

hey love it will be amazing if you can make a video about where to literally begin with when you have decide to learn a language like what's the first thing we need to target? should we start with learning the basic words? alphabets? greetings? grammar? where to actually begin with, I hope you get what I'm trying to say, its like one day you wake up and decide you wanna learn a language what's the first thing you should do and then gradually proceed. it will be absolutely amazing if you can reply to this I wanna learn Chinese but I don't know where to actually begin with.

Also i'd like to speak french and spanish in the future.
