You need a filter !

First I’m not trying to hate but don’t put the Java fern in the substrate, you need a filter no exceptions, your neons need a already cycled tank or else they may not live. 15 mins of acclamation isn’t nearly enough. You need at least 1.5 hours of drip acclamation for neons if you don’t want them to die of shock. Your betta will get blown around by the bubbles. Bettas don’t like any flow so get rid of the bubbles and get a sponge filter you will notice much improvement. You need a light so You can get the plants to grow more. Also you never properly introduced the betta to new tank mates. You didn’t let it cycle. All I’m saying is do your research. Don’t ignore this comments and say it’s hate cause it’s not. It’s constructive criticism.

Just saying you need to be careful with fake plants bc the battas fins are fragile

Take out the bubble wall, they're essentially useless. Add a sponge filter.

Java ferns i’m supposed to be in the substrate use crazy glue gel to glue them on the rocks you also didn’t let your tank cycle it’s also worse because you’re using that type of substrate that releases ammonia I have been a fan for a while but please do your research you could kill your fish also use a filter a filter is more for bacteria then for oxygen

Hi, Yes you need a filter. There is nowhere for your beneficial bacteria to grow, and the tank cannot properly cycle. The substrate you used releases ammonia, at a pretty fast rate I would also like to add, which means your ammonia will be (and probably is already) out of control. Also wouldn’t have put neon tetras with a betta in a 5G tank, they’re fin nippers, especially when in small aquariums. You also mentioned putting in a crayfish at some point - if you do this your betta will be dead. Crayfish are notorious for catching fish by the fins and eating them when they are trying to sleep. If it doesn’t catch your fish and eat him, he will stress him out to the point he will die. Really enjoyed your videos but this one makes me not want to watch anymore. Please do more research before throwing fish into aquariums. They need to be put into cycled tanks and drip acclimated properly.

Hey so I wanted to put a betta and cardinal tetras in a 5 gallon tank because of this other video I saw, do you think that cardinal tetras would get along with a betta or or no? And I researched on it, it said it’s fine but I wanna see what other people think

@@RiyaSingh-rb6ch hey I think that cardinal tetras would be fine, but in a 5G tank they won’t really have much room to swim or exhibit their schooling behavior which over time will stress them out. If you moved up to a 10 or 20G tank you would be much better off.

@@RiyaSingh-rb6ch a five gallon tank is not big enough for any type of tetra. Start with a twenty gallon and a school of at least six to eight. Edit: sorry, didnt see Hannahs reply up there.

Your tarantula is an arboreal species so you should get a taller enclosure and put some stuff for him to climb on. That’s also why he spins webs whereas tarantulas that are more terrestrial and stay on the ground dont

it’s overstocked, your tank isn’t cycled, his tail will be ripped from the fake decor you added, there’s no filter so idk why you asked if he needs it. get a sponge filter, neon tetras belong in BIG TANKS like 20 gallons.

I wanted to thank you for trying to go more national that's pretty awesome and eventually you'll be really amazed with doing planted tanks you don't actually need to buy new stuff for every planted tank you could actually just rearrange things in your tanks and it's really cool I don't spend much money in Taiwan when it comes to doing tanks everything in Taiwan is separate except for the filter it comes with the tank and we don't have stuff with lids and lights and things like that But we also have you know reasonable prices for most things except for aquarium soil that stuff is freaking expensive thankfully you can get a small bag which is enough to you know do your thing but if you really wanted to you could actually use just organic potting soil you put a couple scoops in there and you cap it with natural looking gravel your plants will have nutrition. You can do the garden soil with a layer of inexpensive aquarium soil and then you do a capping of gravel and you've got a nice looking tank plus your root feeders can feed now usually when you put in aquarium soil the nutrition is going to last for at least a month so you don't need liquid fertilizer for your plants that feed off the water column because that nutrients will be going through the water also keep in mind when you're doing a plan and take the pH goes up If your pH is through the roof add one or two teaspoons depending on how the salt reacts to your water but make sure it's diluted and use aquarium salt. Also get a little net put in some Coral with these things plus frequent 40% water changes at least three times a week your water will stay stable it won't become acidic Took me 3 years to figure this out I finally got the water to stay mostly non-excitic I'm going to wait a month and then I'm going to attempt to do another planet tank with the way I described But I'm going to have to hide it under my table because my landlord says I can only have three tanks. I don't know he's afraid that if I run all the filters that the apartment will build up burn down cuz it's old If you bothered to talk to me he would know that I don't run them all at once and that I do it one at a time and the filters only on maybe a few hours every day this works for two reasons first I have food that is easily dropped in I don't so I don't use flakes and other things that are messy second I am very careful about how much stuff is on how long it's on yeah so and I'm always at home I run the filters at night that way at home when I'm not here they don't nothing needs to be on but he insists that I can only have three animals it's really sad cuz I've got this desk that would be perfect for a 5 gallon tank I can move over my 2 gallon tank and put another 5 gallon on the desk actually if I did it right I could have three more tanks in my room but he won't let me damn it one day I'm going to have my own fish room I know exactly how I'm going to do it I'm going to grow out plants I'm going to have a large bag of potting soil I'm going to have just everything natural and I'm going to learn even more about escaping and I'm going to rescue bettas that are living in crappy conditions and then I'm going to sell the tank with the fish which will be healthy and people can have a happy healthy fish in the appropriate beta size tank

I couldn't tell if he used r/o water or tap water ,but a test kit should have been using a test kit and cycled the tank before tossing the fish in. Prolly should already have the test kit considering all the other tanks .

An air pump does not act as a filter. Primarily, air pumps are used in aquariums to oxygenate the water.

You know actually Driftwood is pretty inexpensive and solar plants you could tie a Java moss or java fern to your Driftwood as well as a newbius you don't even have to tie it you can actually just wedge it into the Driftwood it would look great

pink toe tarantula they live better higher up that’s why it’s webbing like that he’s prob stressed 😩 and you should hopefully by now have a taller tank. With more of a taller tree set up they don’t burrow

I would never recommend plastic plants for bettas.. they can cut their fins and damage its body.. they LOVE real plants.. and get an Assassin snails or 2 with some red cherry shrimp and you have your own natural eco-system.

Also i have the same 5 gallon and i do have a filter and am headed to get a bubbler rock you can turn my filter flow down witch the beta loves they do not like hi flow filters so get one with a nob on the top that you can adjust the flow too

Java ferns have rhizomes, and the rhizomes have to stay out of the substrate. If you don't take them out of the substrate, they will die.

I add sun grow calcium rich balls( to be replaced with new ones once in 3 months) and Indian almond leaf (change it during water change)..my Beta actually loves it and I don’t find the need to add a filter since there is only one Beta in it. Now I’m really thinking of giving him a tank mate! Great videos! Love the fish and the new tank set up!! Keep it up! ✅🎉

IMO you need to do more actual betta research because half the things you are putting in that tank are of no use to a betta. With all that greenery where is the betta going to swim w/o bumping into plants? Raising fish is no joke.

You should get rid of the bubble wall and 100% get a filter. Betta fish don’t like the flow and major water movement, that stresses them even more. They also have the labyrinth organ which allows them to come up to the surface to breathe water. Also those fake plants could mess up your betta fins so just Get rid of that entire fake decor and do a real all planted tank. This was a sad attempt. Please do your research before posting a video like this. It’s not your first time setting up a tank wrong. Sorry but I’m unsubscribing
