5 Functional Modifications Installed on 3 Jeep Wranglers

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Come hang out in the garage with me as I make a few modifications and functional upgrades to each of our 3 Jeep Wranglers...the JK, the 392, and Regena's 2-door JL.
I have to replace a broken bump stop, then I'll be installing new Mopar windshield wipers (trust me, these are cool!), installing a Vector Off-Road dash rail (that has a very nice little detail added), adding some rock lights, and installing some hood struts. After all that, I'm going to uninstall a previous modification on Regena's Jeep (something she really, really wanted, until she didn't! 🙄)
There's lots to do in this episode and I hope you enjoy!

This is exactly why I love the Jeep. You can make it exactly like you like it. There’s no standard anything. You can go completely basic and simple with a 3.6 and stick or go full auto with a 392, or even upgrade to a hellcat. And then you can go with bare-bones and soft-top, or full trim with leather and electric everything and hard-top. You can go with basic 17s and 31, or run with 24s and 40s. There’s no other vehicle other than probably a Harley that has this level of customization.

Always fun hangin' in the garage watchin' someone else do all the work. {grin} Nice maintenance/mods reminds me that I need to replace my bumpstops. Sure wish the stock "sliders" for an Xterra were like those on a jeep. And you're right about the hood struts for any vehicle. Those were one of the first mods I did. It gave me an extra 3 inches of lift, and it got that rod outta the way so I can work under the hood easier. Until next time... Travel safe.

Those prop rods are awesome. Airing up on a windy day with the hood up and the compressor connected to the battery. The hood bouncing around pulled the factory rod out of the hole. Fortunately, I was walking by and caught the hood before the rod damaged something in the engine compartment. I liked it so much, I bought some for our other 2 vehicles. Super easy install and worth every penny!

I love my Vector Offroad bar on my JKU...great upgrade. I had some horrible luck with the hood struts though. They were so strong that closing the hood bent my hood hinge brackets. The bent enough to increase the gap between the cowl and the hood by around 3/8". It's very noticeable.

All great mods. If you haven't seen it, BadgeGlow makes a simple aux for the auxiliary switches on the JL that makes connecting to those switches much easier and is much cleaner than the loose wire ends that Jeep sent them out with.

It took me 3 days to install pro rocks on my JKU and it took 3 days to run my 2 sets 12 total kc rock lights. I ended up running all the wiring in the frame and the bus bar I put under the seat belt reel and used the drain plugs as a grommet in the floor then up the frame to the switch pod. I have had zero issues and a very nice product. I will say took a lot longer then I thought it would

Really enjoy your content. Maybe you did, but when you jacked up the JKU to install the bump stops... you didn't mention putting a jack stand in place so that you weren't just relying on the jack to hold up the vehicle. Jack stands are totally necessary when working under the vehicle. Can't assume people watching know this. It appeared that only the jack was in use. Again, love the channel, been following for years and have found your content extremely helpful. Cheers

Have a great trip in Death Valley. Last time you were at the Salt Tram base I was hoping you would turn West, up Lee Flat and over Cerro Gordo to see Brent Underwood. His "Ghost Town Living" YT channel is immensely popular but lacks content after a divide with his financier last year (I'm a fan). Any YT creator that visits Cerro Gordo has an immediate huge draw from YT SEARCH and I'll bet you get a huge bump in subscribers if you visit Cerro Gordo. Get him to take you into a mine and your viewership will skyrocket. Tim the Kiwi is the key "behind the scenes" person to all filmed adventures, be sure to meet him. Also, after you turn off of Saline Valley and proceed West into Lee FLat there are two well preserved historic miner's cabins that I bet you'd enjoy seeing; Lee Cabin and Nelson Cabin. Both miners had geological formations named after them; Lee Flat, Nelson Mountain Range. This region has many more as it was the largest Silver production in the USA at one time. In fact, you can also camp at the Top of the Salt Tram on the platform (pretty flat) or in the Tram cabin house. Enjoy the trip, Death Valley has teh best temperatures in all of USA now, smart trip!
