I bought the same about a month ago and last week I manage to set it in freecad. Today I found this video :)

That accompanying assembly in the video - what kind of device is it? I like the design...

Remember to reverse either xy or yz (I forget which) for your space mouse for it to work properly. You can do it in preferences if I recall correctly.

I don't think I had to reverse it for mine - but good tip in case someone has that issue.

Awesome video. But consider adding timestamps in the description so it is easier to find the tips you are interested in. Joko did this.

Thank you for the Tips! I'm still pretty new to 3D Design. What I liked the most was the Macro to send things to the slicer! I'm using PrusaSlicer, but SLICERAPP= "PrusaSlicer" is not working.. "user need to set this directory where slicing software is located" - Do I need to set a path? Where and how exactly? The error message is: : [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'PrusaSlicer': 'PrusaSlicer'

That means that the software is not found by the macro. If PrusaSlicer is not in you Path you will have to use the directory and the name of the executable.

@@WayofWood Thanks for getting back to me so fast! If I try to enter the full path to the app, I'm getting this error: : [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Volumes/MacHD/Applications/PrusaSlicer.app' - Might have something to do with the sandbox.. tried giving FreeCAD full disk access, but got the same error...

I am pretty clueless when it comes to Mac. The error message indicates some kind of access issue but I don’t know how to fix this on a Mac...

For exporting to slicers, is there a way to export multiple parts while keeping their relative positions? This would be useful for multimaterial printing.

Good question. This might require some tweaking with the slicer API in order to tell it where to position the parts - not sure if this is feasible. For cura I don’t know if such an option exists...

@@WayofWood I personally use PrusaSlicer (as I have a Prusa). It is able to do this when I open multiple files from inside the slicer, as long as they share the same origin and coordinate systems.

Have you managed to manually export a mesh preserving the origin?

@@WayofWood I did some experiments when I got home today. It seems the macro works, as long as the program opens with a multi-material printer. If a non-multi material printer was used last time, it defaults to that and loads the pieces on top of each other instead. This is slightly annoying, but oh well. I'm also getting 3 files instead of two: test--Body, test--Body001 (the two bodies I created to test) as well as a test--Reference), which seems to be a copy of test--Body001. Not sure if this is related to using realthunder's link branch (which has sensible boolean operations in PartDesign, awesome!).
