5 Foods I STOPPED Eating for Weight Loss and to Improve My Health
I'm sharing what foods I don't eat for weight loss and overall health. Anyone can implement these healthy eating tips to improve their health. Over 25 years, I have gradually stopped eating processed foods to help me lose weight, have more energy, and improve my metabolic health. I share what foods I don't eat and why I don't eat certain foods. When I eliminated processed foods, I lost weight, had more energy, and felt healthy. Healthy eating is the key to my wellness and health. I wanted to know how to start eating healthily. A healthy diet and practicing mindful eating and becoming aware of how foods affect my body, weight and health is a major factors in my overall wellness.

I no longer drink alcohol- I had gradually cut down over the years and then stopped completely about 3 years ago, it has been a revelation to see how much better I feel. Even one glass used to leave me feeling sluggish and ill tempered the next day, my sleep has improved and my energy is higher now in my 60’s than is was in my 30’s. Lots of my friends have subsequently stopped drinking too, instead we have fizzy water or the occasional glass of Kombucha

During covid and the lockdown and even before due to serious post trauma stress, I began drinking a LOT. I also struggle with anxiety and depression. I found it a mechanism to then tune out as one would say. I've gained 25kg !!! And I hate myself for it. I'm working with a therapist to get it out of my life, but also dealing with root issues

Good 👍, being a vegan off about your age (56) , I definitely agree that you’re gut plays a definitely big part in the way you behave and think. The minimal life is a way too experience that less is more… , but it’s a path that one usually takes when they’re are no other options available at the moment. Being is the recognition that you don’t become but that you are..it .

Is it just me or does anyone believe that we would all holistically benefit from a Connie's Concoction cookbook (incorporating all the wonderful recipes that have been shared by Connie)? Connie, you are certainly hands down (in a yoga pose, of course:) one of the very best mentors on the virtual web that cares about caring for ourselves and our loved ones holistically. Thank you for being an excellent ambassador of caring for ourselves from the within. With much gratitude!

We cut our sugar down to no more than 30 mg a day and sodium 1500 a day. It has made a difference. We also cut out soft drinks and going out to eat, rather it be nice resturants or fast food. We both feel more energized and healthy !!! I've lost 48 lbs and my husband 39 lbs. I also dropped 5 pant sizes and my husband 4 !!

Dont cut down sodium, in fact, increase it, your body needs it as an important electrolyte for energy. Instead, increase your potassium with a supplement, everybody is potassium deficient (you need 4.5 grams per day, normal diet falls far short) which then leads to sodium issues. Potassium Bicarbonate is best. When our potassium levels are at an optimum, you can tolerate far more sodium and benefit from the increase. There is a thing called the sodium / potassium pump if you want to research it.

Connie, I’ve been watching for a while and feel very inspired by you. Not sure of your age, but I’m 58 and feel somewhat close in interests to you. I love travel, do more running than yoga but still enjoy it, am working towards more plant based eating and sustainable lifestyle in both home and clothing. Love your style! I’m also not coloring my hair, keep it short and wear silver jewelry (always have), so you inspire me. I just wanted to tell you that the shade of orange shirt and your hair and makeup in this video all made you “glow.” So it was perfect for illustrating how eating simple, unprocessed and living healthy can reflect in your appearance.

When I hit menopause I really had to up my game on being healthy. For me what I ate definitely effected how I felt. Being a Holistic Master Esthetician for almost 4 decades I began to see that what people ate and what they put on their body or skin effected them in very adverse ways. I would see overly aged skin, dull skin and It made me realize even more that what I put in my body mattered. At almost 57 I intermittently fast and I eat plant based and I feel the best I ever have. I have told you it teach beauty and aging naturally or holistically ( no injectable’s no procedures and no hair dye or layers of foundation and concealer for example) we simply don’t realize what we put in and on our body does get into our bloodstream and does affect us in so many ways. Loved this. Blessings everyone 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa

@@PeachesSkinCare thanks for your share. You’ll sound even more brilliant if you learn the difference between affect and effect. Super easy. Affect is a verb. Effect is a noun. The results of actions produces effects As in, my airspace is affected by global emissions. The effects from inhaling carbon monoxide daily are difficulties breathing and shortened lifespan bc of sucking bad air. Make sense now? ✌

I can so relate to this! I do not eat meat at all (as well as very little if any dairy and occasionally an egg). Like you, my family does eat meat. It can make things very chaotic in the kitchen sometimes. My husband and I recently started putting together a lot of slow cooker meals so that he and our kids have their meals pretty much ready by 5pm every day. That leaves me only to think about. I do a lot of bigger batch cooking, not even on purpose, just that most recipes are not made for 1 person only. I then either freeze half or just eat the same thing for a few days in a row. I would be so interested to find out how you and your family handle this issue, in regards to your eating differently than they do.

It is curious that the ideia of everyone being different (there is not a standard diet that fits everyone) and that the processed foods should be avoided at all costs is also what has been advocated by Prof. Tim Spector (UK) who has been scientifically studying nutrition for some years and whose work I have recently discovered. Hi Conny, thank you for the video! My own diet has been vegetarian for over 12 years now (also no fish, I simply don't like it). Almost 10 years ago I also decided to skip dairy for the most part (I do eat some cheese and occasionally an egg). Especially dropping the milk has been extremely beneficial for me. I used to have severe stomach pain from drinking milk and eating cream and it turned out I grew intolerant over the years even though as a Dutch person I was raised with loads of milk:). So I am mostly Whole Foods plant based and also as you almost never eat junk food, artificial stuff etc. I feel good! If you ever consider going vegan or more plantbased I can recommend the very interesting book bij Simon Hill The Proof is in the plants.

Like you Simini I gave up all meat (and like you I never could stand the smell of fish, let alone eat it) 13 years ago because of my love for all animals. I then became vegan (whole food plant based) for 4 years but now identify as vegetarian because I could not bear the taste of "fake vegan cheese" and now occasionally have real cheese in my diet but no eggs unless mixed in a recipe. I use Naturli vegan spread on my bread. I found I also lost way too much weight by cutting out all added fats when WFPB, which included no extra virgin olive oils. I now happily eat and love olive oil. I don't drink milk but have soy or almond milk on my cereal, and always barista soy in my coffee. Perhaps we should look upon our bodies as a temple and worship them with what. goes into them.

I eat in exactly the same way! I did go completely vegan for a time, but just like you ‘fake cheese’ just didn’t cut it. I now eat just a little cheese occasionally, and the occasional egg. I have cut down on sugar too, and use just a little maple syrup or coconut sugar if I need to sweeten anything. Everything else tastes amazing since I’ve cut right down on my sugar intake. I also avoid processed food , I can’t stand things like ‘pretend meat’ products I would much rather just eat food that looks like it’s original self as much as possible. My energy and general health has improved hugely!

❤ the channel. I gave up soda back in 2018 🎉. Just the thought of drinking one now just grosses me out. I decided to give up ALL meat back in 2020, wow what a difference. But here lately I have had some type of meat and I feel so yucky afterwards. Any kind of dairy is a no no for me(lactose intolerant). I’m still in a process of what to eat, what taste good, what doesn’t. I’m going to try to go back to basic whole foods for 2023. 🤞🏻

Dear Connie, thank you so much for your great work to influence poeple for simply and healthy life. I life in Germany. We have the same problem with industrial produced food. Long time ago I decided I don't eat it and I eat seldem meat. I also had the feeling, my body didn't like it. I ask me why and found the answer at Peter J. D'Adamo an American naturopath. He wrote a book "The blood group diet". It is an alternative medical concept based on his theory. He assumed that people with different blood groups tolerated foods differently due to "evolutionary reasons". Warm greetings

I went pescatarian about 13 years ago. That is exactly how I described it to my husband, I just didn’t feel as heavy or weighed down. A year later I went vegan. I was the only one in my family. My husband went vegan the following month and we have never looked back. I would say 9/10 meals my family eats what we eat by, by choice, because our vegan food just tastes better than the processed stuff.

None of us feel full after fast food. They have food engineers (I'm serious) who chemically engineer them to block our satiety hormone and trigger our hunger hormone. (leptin-ghrelin). Something else you may already know re extra energy not eating meat. Digestion uses a lot of our energy, and meat takes the longest to digest. Another great video, thanks

Hello from Sydney Australia! Connie, I feel revolting when I walk past the butcher. I literally feel nauseated ! I prefer fish a few times a week like good omega 3 salmon etc. What do you eat the rest of the time ? I love a good salad esp in our summer heat it is so humid ! Our summers go from Christmas to past Valentine's Day and are sticky and full humidity ! Many people can't afford air conditioning. So, I'm trying to kick a whole lot of weight gained through covid and before, so I want to focus on fresh healthy foods less carbs, and less alcohol.

Hi Sonia, I'm from Central west nsw. I'm 65 and gained weight from stress eating. I eliminated most free sugars from my diet and easily lost weight. I've been vegetarian for 51 years, eat organic free range eggs, Tofu, seeds, nuts and occasionally vegie sausages. My diet is rich with various fruits and salads without any dressing. I feel very well and exercise daily which includes walking, yoga and weights. Find your happy medium, enjoy nature and be grateful for the good things in your life. Above all try to be happy.
