All these features were removed because of the new kid-friendly era (PG Era). WWE Do not want kids or teens acting out what they see in a video game, it has been too many cases where kids act out what they see on games like grand theft auto, UFC, street fighter and other violent video games. WWE is the most known and is a big company and has been fighting these lawsuit cases for years since the WWF days hence why they went PG in the first place, kids were going up to they parents and school officials saying "Suck it" and putting up stone cold 'middle finger'. Imagine if they act out a inferno match or choking they lil brother or bully with a TV monitor cord. WWE Would really have big issue on their hands. Just because these games are made by two different companies they still have to get permission from WWE what to put in them. So if you don't see your favorite feature/match type in the game just remember its not just because 2K it's also or mainly because WWE.

The Interesting thing about games such as SVR 2009, SVR 2010, and SVR 2011 was that even if the product was PG at that point, the games still felt 'violent' compared to the actual show which is what still kept me hooked during this time. Then once the quality of the blood & inferno mechanics started decreasing, I started slowly losing interest in the games as well.

I remember playing my friend and his cousin. We did a 3v1 girls vs Great Kahli. One giant chop and we would be on the floor for 5 minutes. It was great.

wwe svr 2008 was the last great wwe game for me, I loved the hardcore matches, the ecw playable characters and the awesome fights in the crowd where you can use weapons that the fans gave you. Good times 😁

Also starting in SVR 2011 they removed the mounted punching. And in SVR 2010 when mounted punching a superstar when from behind they removed the up left stick option due to the move being very cheap online as it would do immense damage to their head.

Goodness, the games used to be so brutal. I never noticed until I saw this video. Good stuff my guy.

Wrestling games back then were more brawler style and now they are so technical. I like the older ones better but maybe they can find a balance

WWE Entertainment It's not like you can blame Vince. WWE was in a shitstorm reputation in 2007 after Benoit's fuck-up and then everything being highlighted during Linda's senate campaign. Vince only turned wrestling adult-themed to save the ratings against WCW during the Monday Night Wars. It worked. But he doesn't have to do that anymore - there's no direct competition. It's dull but PG is a more safe environment = no lawsuits from injured wrestlers, better reputation = more sponsors = more $, etc.

I know what your saying it's cringy to watch!! It's not just blood I miss and risks being taken, it's the pace I miss as well, everything now seems rushed! There is no crawling slowly to make the pin e.g now say Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins, they just run round ring for 2-3 mins then perform finisher every match! It's dull and boring and don't get me started on that Reigns bloke ;( only ever see him do 7 superman punchs and 3 spears or more in every match! How is that entertaining?

Anyone remember the mods from PS2 Smackdown vs Raw where you can make your wrestler the size of an action figure? Modding Ken Kennedy to be tiny was pure comedy with his ring intro. Literally the only way to hit them was to do a ground stomp. Ahhh good times.

Another interesting one was one that never saw the light of day . But only in the preview was in SvR 2007 there was going to be glass light bulbs as weapons but did not make it in the final game .

I loved those little mini games. The smashing face into turnbuckle, punches and rope crotch. Or the way you can move you opponents around into different moves. I would throw guys off the cell with moves like that. Haha
