Even if you don't summon spirit ashes for boss fights, the revered ash and their associated blessing still increase Torrent's health, which is essential for any of the mounted combat sections where you can fight dragons and other bosses while on horseback.

If you use the Middle English pronunciation scadutree should be pronounced closer to shadow-tree

they don't drop rarely from the shadow enemies they only drop from the ones that are holding a glowing pot above their head and you have to kill them before they break the pot or else you will need to rest at a grace and try again (edit) some of them also drop scadutree fragments

So what you’re saying is not to skip the first 15 minutes of the game, explore the legacy dungeons and check the gear that the boss dropped? I was hoping for something less obvious…
