We "discovered" Arkansas a few years ago and have since been back on multiple camping and backpacking trips. It is really a hidden outdoor paradise...so stop telling people, they're crowding up all the good places! 😂

That's smart, Kelly. When you save a turtle you always take him in the direction he was going even if it's farther away because if you don't he'll just turn around and go back the way he wanted to go. You obviously know this. I just saved a turtle today, in the spring they get really dumb.

When you left Florida you forgot to take me! LOL. Arkansas is a beautiful state that i have spent time in and have fond memories of. I watched a person save a gopher tortise in Orlando by putting him in the median of the road and i witnessed an alligator frogger across I-75 and make it! Loving your Arkansas vids.

It's remarkable how much that part of Arkansas resembles Cloudland Canyon in Georgia.

You do a nice job of showcasing the beauty of each area you visit. It is easy to see why you love the natural beauty of Arkansas. I’m impressed by the that OM has professionals like Michaela (sp), who could pass for your sister, that come out to your location and tutor you on that marvelous camera. So looking forward to the CDT vlog!

That book from Tim Ernst is gold. Excellent reference. Arkansas has some of the very best hiking areas, especially for waterfalls. Hemmed-in-Hollow is probably my favorite.

Great video Kelly. Another great multi day trek would be from Ponca to Pruitt on the Buffalo River Trail. A couple of buddies and I made that trip over forty years ago before there was a trail. Great fun but we had to ford the river 19 times…….in January!!!! We did it again after the trail was finished and had just as much fun but a lot easier. I think you would like the terrain, flora and fauna.

So when you were at 'Big Shoal Cascades' you mentioned it being a 'good swimming hole'. Almost straight across the road from where you turned in is a small road that goes a couple hundred feet into the trees and stops at the creekside. That spot is a nice rock ledge with a drop into a deep pool, which is the favored local 'swimming hole' if you ever get back up there.

The distant video, (zoomed out), detail looks very clear : well defined. ||| I have fast-snapped water; the resulting picture was a crystal clear / see through, brook water. (Have not tried photographing shutter-held-open-time-delay, water-fall, like your camera person demonstrated. Very cool). (My camera then, was a 35mm, old-school film camera, using ISO-1000 speed film. (Good for high shutter speeds). With the newer digital cameras, white-balance is about the only item to manually adjust, *some digital cameras* do not always adjust W.B. to my liking. (To avoid light wash-out, while shooting towards window light indoors). (Not always easy to move subjects in photography). Great outdoor activity, (videography, like you do), to help record what you explore. Beautiful landscape where you both traveled to. Thank you. 🏆 😊

Can’t beat beautiful Arkansas! I need to get out and trail hike sometime since I got some barefoot hiking shoes. I also didn’t know that Arkansas has some places for hang gliding which here in south central Kentucky we have a place called Pinnacle Bluff which used to be a hang gliding spot back in the ‘70s before it became private property.

Arkansas is definitely a "hidden gem" alot of people still don't know about (especially the northern parts). All the beauty you could need is here.

Good job on moving those turtles to the side of the road! They are gravid females looking for a place to dig a hole and deposit their eggs. So, for every one turtle you prevent being crushed by a car, there are probably 5 to 15 potential babies you've saved too.

I've Motocamped at Nebo a couple of times. Those switchbacks going up to the park are a bit precarious on a packed down BMW adventure bike. There are dwarf trees on top of Mt Magazine due to the elevation and harsh winds that are smaller than the same types of trees at the base of the mountain. I'm one of those annoying people riding a bicycle to the top of Magazine. Sorry, I just had to.
