I tried many other tutorials, but once I came across yours I had my eyes opened and was able to follow along with your precise instruction. So thanks , I will be a avid follower from now on.
Jesus, I've been using Photoshop for 30 years and yet, I've learned SO much from you in just a few videos. You explain everything perfectly and at just the right pace. Everyone making tutorials on any app should use your videos as their tutorial on how to make great tutorials. Thank you!
Great tutorial. Also, the way you accentuating important moments deserves additional mention.
I loved the way he explains every detail! VERY HELPFUL! THANK YOU!
The step by step instructions are one of the most important parts to a tutorial
This was *immensely* helpful and super easy to follow. Thank you!
Dude, your tutorials are so dense with information. I love it!
Thank you so much for your video! I've been scratching my brain for the past couple of days trying to figure out how to make glowing lines in either photoshop or lightroom and you finally gave me the answer I was looking for. I honestly didn't know how to frame my question in google to search for it and every place searched I came up empty handed. The video was very informative and again thanks for helping find the solution to my problem!
Thank you for this! I'll be doing this after my exams and assignments to make a template for a watercolor piece I will be doing! Will want this sketch effect for transferring pencil markings (which will be put on the back of the printed photoshop file) so I can have an accurate proportion transfer of an image I made digitally!
mind BLOWN. Thank You!! Your tutorials are way better than what they taught me in design college! Could have saved my parents a whole lot of dough! Definitely subscribing. Awesome content.
Your tutorials are absolutely the BEST!!! Thanks so much, your a great teacher
This is simply amazing! Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for this video! It’s so helpful and you explained it so well x
Very concise, informative tutorial. You're delivery is SMOOTH, Man 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I already did this with a photo once, and it's super useful for when I try to improve my realism in drawings! I can see all the pieces where there are thick lines and shadows (This way it's super easy to know which pencil to use haha) super useful!!
Very cool & creative! I'd tried this effect a couple of time before but was never fully pleased with the results - now I know that was because I hadn't started with *threshold* ... Yay! Learned something new from you. Again. Thanks a ton, JR!
Incredibly well done, well explained and easy to follow tutorial. Thank you for taking the time!
Wow! I never knew of the Invert-ColorDodge-Gaussian Blur combination before! Absolutely eye-opening.(I'm still trying to work out just *why* that works like that...) Thanks a gazillion as ever Jesús!

5:21 This channel is the absolute best one I have found for learning Photoshop. I really appreciate your teaching style. I currently use an older version of Photoshop but you have convinced me that next month I'm going to buy a membership for the latest version of Photoshop. It's worth it with the assistance from your brilliant videos.
Awesome effect! I liked it so much that I used it to make a Christmas gift for my wife. I can't post it on IG yet because she'll see it, but I absolutely love my results. I promise to post after the holidays so that you can see it. I would love your opinion and critique! Thank you, as always.

That is great, Timothy!!! I would love to see it when you post it! 😊
Thanks for sharing this tutorial... It was a cleaner transition... Then other techniques which I have used before...
I loved the invert tip: Duplicate layer, Color -> adjust -> invert (and image vanishes), blend mode: color dogde, filter -> gausian blur.
Wow probably the best approach to tutorials out there! Very well done and the effect here came out great!
Always a notch or two above the other artist's tutorials. Thanks Jesus!

What an excellent teacher. I stumbled on this video quite by chance, and I'm impressed! I ended up watching it, even though I did not come for this.

Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! One of the most clear and informative tutorial I have seen! I really like the effect upon till applying the blur effect. I really like how it looks like the image becomes painted in sections by gouache. I wonder if there is a way to get the same look but giving us an option using limited colors. Right now I have so many sections with different colors and I wish it can be more simplified. Let me know what your suggestion would be! Thanks a lot!!

Jennifer if you have Illustrator, you can use the Trace mode to choose a 3 or 6-color limited palette. You can also experiment with a High Quality Photo (as one of the modes for the conversion to a vector image), and vary the number of curves and fills in order to limit the color scheme. You could also use Select Color Range to choose two or more colors and then replace them with a preferred color. And you can also use Posterize, then set the number of colors you want (but I've never seen a posterized image of one of my photos turn out well, so I use the other options).
I have the same T-shirt dude. It’s still one of my favorites :)
Thank you so Much! I did the same steps in Affinity Photo, and the effect turned out very well.
Compherensive lesson. Thanks for sharing.
I Love your tutorials man, they are so detailed and very well instructed! They're the Very Best tutorials on KZread...even better than any so called "Official" tutorials that Anyone else has...But this sh*t is Far From "EASY" man lol...Especially if you needed a tutorial to begin with! :) Thank You for helping us bumble through it all!! So someone actually knows what all the buttons on Photoshop do!! Great tutorial and the shortcuts are great
Awesome tutorial, I love it , thank you so much
Simply the best tutorial I've seen on the pencil effect. Your results look much better then what I ever did using PS plugins (Topaz Labs or Filter Forge)...Kindly keep up the great work... I must try this pencil effect to some of my 3D renders in Vue, Poser or Daz3D..... Cheers and many thanks...
This is fantastic, thank u!
You're the best, thanks for great content
Finally, someone who explains what the filters actually do! I took a professional design course on line and the instructor would say "use multiply" without explaining what it did! So frustrating! $3,000K! for the course!
Super awesome!! Thank you!
thank you, it's very helpful for me.
that was fun, thank you so much!
Hi JR! Excellent, as always! I've been looking for a tutorial that explains how to transform an image to COLORED PENCIL DRAWING with realistic effect. Until now, I didn't find anyone with a good result. Will you consider making one? Thank you for this video and have a wonderful 2022 :)
