I love your approach of simple, but still grooving. Thanks.
Rob, I don’t comment much, but I’ve been learning tons from you for about three years. Here’s the thing. If I’m not paying attention, I treat your lessons roughly the same as many of the other drumming channels I follow. I roll your stuff into my practices at about the same rate as drills from a few other great teachers on KZread. This is the inspiring quality of your lessons which sticks out though: you have staying power. Other drills fade away over time, while yours just stay in rotation, continuously helping me improve my drumming. So today I finally added you to my Patreon list. And I need to buy a shirt or something. What ever I do, it won’t be enough to repay you for making me a happier, more confident, capable, and musical drummer. Thanks, man.

Thanks a bunch, man. Just received your Patreon notification. Your support is much appreciated! That's a very cool compliment, by the way 🙂🤘🏽
As a violinist whose been playing since he was 4, starting drums has made my rhythm so much better, and your a part of that progress. Thanks for the videos!
Rob, I just bought an electric drum kit to teach myself how to drum, because I love your videos! Thanks for inspiring this classical cellist to try something new!
Glad you popped up! In these times, we worry.. :-) I'm stoked for this lesson.

I was thinking the exact same thing!
love what you do, could you please provide a printable PDF of the grooves that you show, so much easier to practice at a later timeshared to know what the kick drum is doing in this lesson
I'm a one-handed drummer and I can do the same thing self talk to🥁🎼🎵🎶😎
Thanks for the great video, very helpful!
I love your approach of keeping it simple smooth and groovy. Thanks for what you do, man
This is fantastic. Tricky but fantastic.
All great stuff! It's cool to see such patterns and the amazing utility they provide. Fantastic!
I recommend your channel to every drummer I know.
You rock Rob ! Another gem video in your repertoire ! THANK YOU !
Man, that snare sounds sweet.
Thanks Rob! These are great fill ideas! 🥁❤
I am learning a lot from you. Thank you Rob for being such a wonderful tutor and a mentor. God Bless you.
Thank you very much for the very detailed and accessible explanation of each figure.
Rob, just wanted to thank you for all your awesome videos. I've been learning so much from you in just the past month since I began playing drums again and discovered your channel. You rock.
Hello Rob. Learnt the 2 of the 5 Groove Fills. Your method of teaching is so beautiful. I actually feel my journey progressing from a beginner to an intermediate drummer. Thank you Boss.
Fan here from Philippines! More videos pls! Thanks!
I have seen a lot of drumming channels out there, but you are by far the beat I have seen. You make it extremely easy to learn and I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
I really love the sound of your bass drum!
Random comment added to try and help your channel. Thank you for your instructions!
Super teacher, sorry my english is bad and iam from belgium, but i love your lesson
Obrigado por me ajudar a melhorar meus groovesssss....
Enjoyed it as always Rob! Good stuff.
Hi Rob! I'm a beginner drummer, started taking lessons about a month before the pandemic got out of control in March (now I take lessons via Zoom). Your channel has made a positive impact in my playing, really dig your content and look forward to hopefully one day sounding more like you do. I'm psyched that you have something lined up for September, good to have something to look forward to! (Hopeful that it'll be applicable for those of us that are still getting a good grasp of the fundamentals, but if not, I appreciate it anyway!)
First time hearing this kind of thing. Looked up possibly similar videos and found nothing. It makes sense, adding fills that meld with the groove unlike some fills that calls attention to themselves, potentially detracting from the music. Really cool! My favorite lesson from you yet.
Gratz Rob ! \m/
I really appreciate your teaching style. I was really excited to see you on the live pocket lesson on Drumeo and I hope that you do some more stuff for them!

The hi hat sounds great....
Cheers from Denmark.
I love what you do! I play drums a little, though I'm primarily a singer a guitarist. You are a natural teacher, and you keep it real! Keep up the awesome work! It probably isn't possible, but it would be an honor to jam with you some day!
Thank you for creating quality refreshing content. You're my number one drummer on youtube. I look forward to September.. my birth month woot
Please do a drum recording series!
Really liked these and yes a PDF would be great.
Congratulations 👏...💙👊😎
I thank after 5 seconds already, cause your stuff never disappoints! :)
Thanks for the knowledge, you're the shizz man
Thanks Mr Rob \m/

Thanks for the lessons. I am a new drummer and I just started following since the epidemic changed the fast pace of our lives.
As a drummer I love your videos. As a human I like your "cool cat" personality.
I've been here since the beginning Rob, congrats on the verification mark! Keep up the great work man 🥁
Yeees!!! New Homework!
Thanks
I don't suppose you have written music for this anywhere?????? ranted I'm a rank green beginner here, but by the time I figure out what your doing your onto the next one. (So far I can only get two things keeping up, base/snare, or base hat, snare hat.) As soon as I try all three? OH MY GOD! My limbs don't know who to listen to yet. lol. You make it look so easy. I know... beginner. I'm still learning how to rid the bike and steer, keep balance, how do you stop now before I hit that tree? lol. I remember that. This will come but wow. I have a whole new level of respect for good drummers out there now.
Hey Rob . Learnt all 5 but dont get the fluency like you. You are too good Rob. Will keep practicing to reach better sounding grooves. Thank you for your lessons.
Great to see another lesson up, in my book you are the best drum teacher out there. Just a thought, have you ever thought of putting a cam on your bass-drum foot for some of these lessons? I always work on the theory that if your bass foot is glued tight to whatever rhythmic feel you are going for, your hands can't not follow. There are couple of vids on here with Bernard Purdie that make brilliant use of this. Not over done, and not always on screen but there when you need it. Like I say, just a thought. I live in the remote woods of Europe, what is this Patreon thing of which you speak? Do you deliver Merch to Europe? If there is one drum teacher who should be able to make a living from online lessons, you are the one.
Great stuff Rob....Charlie Watts style eh
I was just watching your shuffle beats vid 😂
Love your vids! Lenny Kravitz
Sweet snare sound man! Any tips for consistent rimshots?
Loving all the stuff you do - it is MUCH valued and appreciated. Can I offer one little suggestion? Perhaps if your snare mic was moved closer to the hihat it would bring the hihat volume up a bit which I find is a bit low. Keep up the great lesson, I always look forward to them !

Just went through your 10 beats for beginners and have been working hard on those over the past couple weeks. Just started on this lesson today. Where would you recommend going after this? Love your channel by the way. You're a very chill guy that actually makes me want to learn the drums.
Wow 170K congrats. Love your videos. Your the only one i go to regularly. If you could add downloadable notation that would be helpful. Anyway thnx.
Rob just want to say you are a great teacher, very useful tasteful information. I love simplicity. My favorite drummers are Steve Gadd, and Steve Jordan. You remind me so much of both of them bc of your style. I have and continue to learn so much from you! Also caught you on Drumeo the other week. Awesome lesson. So many young drummers think they need to overplay to be good. Now I was one of those but with the band I’ve been in for the past 5 years simple is where it’s at. Check is out on Spotify or I tunes Paper Wasps, from Salisbury NC!! Keep up the good work!!
Love your vids so much that I’m first

Hey for Groove Fill #3 should the kick be on "1 and" then "and of 3" and the snare "and of 2" and "4"
Please Please make a pdf for this ?? That would be awesome!!
Can tell us which fills you use in the uptempo application in order, or play each section slowly. I'm trying to figure it out, but that would save some time.
I was going to start my day with the new vid but fills are supposed to by my #admitandcommit so I think I'll look at this later in rotation.
Starting those grooves in "1" is kind of hard. But if I start the groove in one of those late kicks... easy. It sounds the same after some seconds. The problem will be to integrate the groove between a regular beat like you do at the end. It needs to start in "1". Should I avoid this "method" at all costs? Thanks Rob
What snare is that?
So had a drum lesson today, (guitar center) Bought some blank sheets to write music on. Took awhile but I have this all scribbled down.... YOU may think your going slow but wowza, until I learn what to hit when I have to go agonizingly slow. At least until I can keep up with you here. Showed this video to the instructor and he liked it, said this is good. Now.... while I was trying to get this down I noticed, you don't hit the high hat on every eight note. Depending on what else your playing, some... (4th one I noticed especially, the AND of 3 and 4 are skipped.) Sounds great but just wondering if that is intentional? You don't highlight the hat notes, just assumed your suppose to tap out all eight notes? Or.... as my painting teacher would say, don't make rules make art. So don't sweat every single beat just make music right?
What!!!?? Non traditional grip from the beat down, lol.
Ron, I love you bro but Please show up with better sticks! Please’

Pointing out that a drummer's sticks are shredding is like telling a rally car driver that his car is dirty. Just comes with the job, dude 🤘🏽

Sticks showing signs of wear is a testament to the quality of the sticks. If Rob is using sticks that are cracking apart from use, that means Rob likes the sticks he’s using
