DJ played great defense! I love his drive and motor! If he stays or goes I wish him the best! He’s far better than we saw this year!

DJ was dealing with an ankle injury for most of the season. We barely got to see what a fully healthy DJ could do. He will be a great player.

Man. That's one of the reasons I would've loved to see him come back and play for Coach Pope. We'd been waiting to see DJ for a few years. I also know that his Dad and Richmond's Dad played for Coach Cal so I understand the loyalty they would have. Wouldn't be surprised to see both of them end up in Arkansas. Wherever they end up, they're both going to be good players.

i called it waaay b4 J williams. while DJ was in HS i begged him not to play for Kentucky. Reason being how UK players dont do well in the draft. BJ boston was another player i was hoping didnt play for them.

@@rawdoggrankins6194 something is definitely wrong when 5 stars are considered trash once playing in the Calapari system. Nobody in thr 2014 class got drafted in the 1st round. Wiggins was smart he stayed away i encourage anyone else to avoid UK.

U act like he coulda done better anywhere else. A 6’2 guard that can’t shoot, finish or facilitate wouldn’t even be able to get minutes anywhere else at least cal gave him every opportunity to succeed

This is no surprise. Coach Pope needs to pick his players and staff. The style of ball will change you do not need the top recruiting class to win a title.

Lol truth, so many more coaches did more with less while cal had top talent and fell short time and time again. It's my belief that he compensated for his lack of X & O by stacking the roster with raw talent. That strategy went out the window with NIL & the portal.

Best guard in the Nation…nothing else to prove. NBA ready but gonna enjoy college. He was on a team with their own agenda. Nagging injuries. Players sidelined til mid season. A coach under extreme pressure to produce. It’s no rush for DJ. He’s been great on every level. Next year top 10 pick💪🏾💯Camden Strong💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

People say he played bad but literally averaged two points less than reed and four less than rob. And wag had to share touches with reeves who took the most shots on the team and had to share touches with Edwards

DJ is gonna have a monster sophomore campaign.! I would rather him stay at UK, but if he chooses to bounce I hope it’s out of conference. He will dominate, and also be very successful in the NBA once he’s drafted.

I can’t believe fans are turning on DJ. He’s a baller, and has so much talent. If I was Coach Pope, of course I know I’m not, I would be all in on recruiting DJ.! Wherever he ends up , he’s gonna be a top 5 PG in the country this coming season.! Facts!

Go to Rutgers and join Harper in the backcourt. That move would allow him to play off the ball where he wouldn’t have to try to do things he’s not that good at, facilitating and creating for others. With Ace Bailey committed there also Wagner could settle in as a solid 3rd or 4th option and he’d be closer to home in the Northeast as well.

If DJ wants to reach his max potential he needs to go some where that he is the point guard not only playing 20 mins. if he stayed at Ky he would be the man.

I really feel like coach cal felt like he had to be loyal to DJ because of what his dad did for Coach cal years ago at the university of Memphis, when dajuan wagner went to Memphis he literally revived coach cals career and he never forgot that

Not following school basketball..but i watched him in FIBA tourney 2022 U-17...he looked really nothing special,and was suprised when commentators said he 5 star recruit and number one player in highschool....

Suspect jump shot. Nearly all top tier programs would take him in a heartbeat. Hopefully, he'll go to Arkansas. Cal probably gave him too many minutes over Dillingham and Sheppard. But as with any single elimination tournament, Sheppard played poorly and Dillingham was less than stellar. Got beat.

Exactly. Reed had weaknesses that finally caught up with him in the end. N i knew it was going to happen. They shouldve put Dillingham at PG. Played Reed at SG and Reeves at SF. Dillingham was a way better ball distributor. Reed shouldntve been the PG against Oakland. N Edwards should've played more and put on Golhke. He was hitting his shots and playing defense on their guards.

He did not play great defense. He just need another year.

He didn't play like a 5-star player. All popcorn.

He needs more minutes that back and forth was not good for him ..

I am very good with him leaving because he is a terrible underachiever. Last year was terrible on the college level last year. I think it was more of Kentucky not wanting him rather than him rejecting KY.

Wagner was one of the biggest Underachievers we've had in quite a while we won't be missing him a bit

Obviously, DJ needs to work on his game because he went 0 for 9 his last game and was a non-factor with the exception of a game or two during the season. I think he may do a little better next year, but he has a very long way to go. I saw many freshmen on many other teams that performed much, much better than him.

If DJ Wagner isn't getting his way he should transfer? He was the fourth best guard on the team and started over two other guards that were better than him.

None of these boys played with an ounce of heart except for Reed and Reeves, that’s why they lost every single time it counted.

Good riddance, he's overrated anyway.. I feel like the transfer portal pretty much ruined college sports. They made it easy for players to quit and transfer instead of working hard and earning their spot on a team. I feel like there should be a certain condition for players to transfer schools. Commitment has gone out the window and I think it's setting some of them up for failure and setting a bad example. Just my opinion

Nah. Wish DJ would've come back and given Coach Pope a chance to help him develop more. I realize there is history though with Coach Cal and DJ's family so I wouldn't be surprised to see him at Arkansas and I wish him the best regardless of what he chooses to do.
