    Thank for sharing your wealth of research and knowledge on etfs. Being a guy way behind the curve of investing at 50, 3 years away from state retirement but likely going to re enter the workforce in the private sector while drawing my state pension and then massively investing across multiple sectors for stable steady growth. You have helped educate me on this journey.

    Thanks Brian for the video. While return data is useful, it is also important to consider liquidity. In taking a look at EINC, the daily volume is only $3.8k, with 729 traded today. In a buy-and-hold context, you don't normally plan to sell. However, having liquidity provides some reassurance. Also I understand that MLPs are different animals from equities. JEPI and SCHD definitely have liquidity. I own three of the five you mentioned, and did own one other for a short time. 👍

  • @BusinessWithBrian

    @BusinessWithBrian

    2 ай бұрын

    You are correct. It is a less popular ETF (EINC), which plays a large role in its liquidity. I'm speculating that a lot of people that invest in this ETF let it ride for the long-term given its solid returns. I also look for liquidity in my purchases, but it has yet to bite me on the backside, where the liquidity was low. Then again, I only have 1 or 2 investments with low liquidity. But you make a great point for any short-tern investors.

    The easy answer is yes. For someone who doesn't want to complicate their strategy, picking a few ETFs that don't overlap holdings too much will lead to financial freedom if they follow the rules. Whether you dollar cost average the portfolio or wait for 25% drops before investing larger chunks, it will work. Most people get caught up in the rabbit hole of strategies and get analysis paralysis instead of just starting with a simple plan.

    Yours is a very good, solid approach... if. If you have time. Or, if you've already accumulated a sizable nest-egg. If you need income from this mix now, you will only get about 2.5% in dividends for income. You'd need a couple mil invested to get any reasonable amount of cash-flow. If you don't need income and you have time, this mix will grow into a nice sum from which you can eventually glean income as well as experience continued growth. Good Luck and cheers

    Problem with Dividends is tax every year unless these are in tax deferred accounts. Is there any company, which generates Equity/Stocks instead of cash for dividends ? So that you pay taxes only when you sell the equity. But in case of cash dividend, you pay taxes every year, which is not good for compounding growth. Any idea ?

    It's a very good point, so much so that I only invest in dividend stocks in ETFs in my tax advantage accounts. All growth stocks and ETFs reinvest all of their Equity back into the business and that's why they don't pay dividends. I have several videos on the top growth options as well. Without the headache of dividends and interest at the end of the year, in a taxed account

    Hi Brian, Thank you very much for the information. I am new to investing and I am realizing that having cash in a savings account without moving it is the worst option. What I am not very clear about is that with all these ETFs you mentioned, we are talking about returns of 8% to 14% maximum annually, which seems like a very low gain for the risk. Or am I mistaken and dreaming of the Nvidia moment? Can you explain that a bit?

  • @BusinessWithBrian

    Yes, you are dreaming of the Nvidia moment. The s&p 500 averaged 12.5% over the past 10 years. Anything at or above that is cream. Plus, several true dividend play etf and stock weather downturns better than tech. All about your personal preference

    Question if I invested in these. Should I put these in a Roth IRA or a brokerage account? The reason I ask is because over time I’d like to pull out the dividends collected. A Roth wouldn’t allow me to do this until retirement correct? So would a brokerage be the smart move? Or can I still do this with a Roth IRA?
