@@Grackle potato scones are incredibly easy to make. You basically take some mashed potato (that you’ve prepared as you like with butter, milk and seasoning) once it’s cold (or you can use leftovers...if you have them) you then add enough flour to make a soft dough, roll the dough to about 5mm thick and either use a round pastry cutter to make individual ones or a side plate as a template for portioning the dough to give the initial cook. You lightly oil a frying pan and cook the dough on both sides until they’re a dark golden brown. Once they’ve cooled the large ones can be cut into quarters and then shallow fried as part of a cooked breakfast. Weird side note, they are actually really nice toasted and then some butter and jam put on top...oh and my Mum used to quite often put fried Scottish pancakes or soda scones (also known as soda farles) on a fry up too.
Omg I was so happy to hear that there is a hungarian dish in it bc I’m hungarian🤓🤭 Love you Grace, thanks for being here!❤️

Hey! I'm spanish and we do sometimes slice tomatoes and put them on the toast, I've also seen people "mash" the tomato and make sort of a natural tomato paste to put in on top. I think you did us justice :D it's also a very leanient dish because different Autonomous Regions of Spain make it different, so there's no wrong way to make it really.
What I love about Grace is how passionate she is about her videos and food. I really love how much effort you put in! Wishing you all the success 💕
For the Spanish one I blend the tomato (without the center) and spread it on toast, also you can add jamón serrano and it will blow your mind!
Hungarian here: never met anyone who eat Pogácsa as a breakfast. When I was in middle school I sometimes had it between breakfast and lunch, or when we have a wine festival you can buy it for a snack or sometimes we bring it to events. Also I"m not sure if you have the same cottage cheese as we do but they looked quite nice what you made. As a child for breakfast I always had cereals. Now I usually eat "hot sandwich" - bread, butter, some cold cut and cheese that melts. You put it in your 40 year old russian small "oven" that you only use for this purpose, if you don"t have it, you can put it in the normal oven. Or we just eat normal breakfasts. I think that there is no "the hungarian breakfast".

I think I'd like the Portuguese breakfast!!! The coconut buns, the fresh oj, the ham and cheese croissant (veganised) 🤤😋
As a Hungarian I don't know anyone who's eating pogácsa for breakfast. They're more of a snack. You were right though quark would've been more authentic (or if you can get Polish tworag - you can usually find it in most bigger supermarkets in England). As for a Hungarian breakfast, I'd recommend sweating out some onions, then cooking some bacon bits and dried sausage in the pan and scrambling it all together with some eggs. Would love to see a full day of Hungarian food!

Oh that brings back such happy food memories - I spent 2 weeks in Budapest once and absolutely fell in love with the food! I had scrambled eggs with tasty things added for breakfast almost every morning - I'm going to have to try to track down some Hungarian dried sausage. I still make homemade nokedli from a little recipe book I got at the Buda Castle museum at least every second week (and dream of langos, the absolute food of the gods! - I thought Scotland was good at deep frying before, but that was something else).

As a Spaniard I was so proud to see you making "pa amb tomàquet/pan con tomate"! For some extra "tomatoness", you might wanna consider crushing the tomato in order to create a sauce. This is the preferred method in Southern Spain; most cafés also serve it that way since you make the most of the tomato and none of it goes to waste.
