5 Days in Buenos Aires | Helen Merlin Vlog

I'm so excited to be in Buenos Aires, because it's my first time in Argentina and I've heard this is the Paris of Latin America. It's winter back home, but summer in Argentina, so it's warm and sunny. It's a beautiful city-there's hundreds of parks, it seems-with a complex and colorful history from hundreds of years of European immigration. The food is amazing (yes, there are fresh fruit and veggies too, not only empanadas and steaks 😂). The people are among the most friendly I've met in all of my travels.
We're staying in this beautiful home with a copula (dome shaped room on the roof deck) in the middle of Palermo Soho. Should I do a house tour video?

Liked your Video. You're right, prior to WWII Argentina had the 5th largest economy in the World and Buenos Aires City by 1930 had 93% of its population as Foreign born Immingrants from outside the American Continent; thus "tanos" became nickname for Italians, "turco" for middle-Easterners, "gallego" for Spaniards (as the majority of Spaniards came from Galicia in NorthWestern Spain) ...etc. Please show more of Argentina and please do not miss visiting "Iguazu Falls", "Usuhaia", ""Calamuchita" in Cordoba province....etc.

The web is flooded with videos of Buenos, each a carbón copy of the other, visiting the dame touristic expensive places that locals seldom visit. I was delighted to see your video, most pleasant and absorbing and showing several spots that tourists do not even know. Great job!!

Me encantó.

Yes Tami! I loved learning about the history of La Boca, complex and rich history for this immigration port with a lot of challenges and also spirit. I didn't know that the color of the buildings originally came from paint of the ships. Thank you for sharing it :) I loved especially the story of how the boys selected the Boca Juniors team colors -- blue and gold. The boys wanted to start their own team (separate from River) and they chose the colors of the first ships they saw from the port. How clever of them :) Tango is so beautiful of a music and dance. I studied salsa for several years, and only a beginner to tango so I didn't get to dance tango at any milongas. Maybe next time ;) Here is the Airbnb listing, enjoy! www.airbnb.com/rooms/3476723

Hope you had a great time, me and my SO are planning to go there in two months. Did you feel safe walking around or many tourist walking in the morning? The first dish is a peruvian Ceviche not from Argentina. Can't believe you manage to get into a Boca game!! So jealous!

Most meals aren't really argentinean since she went with mostly vegan/vegetarian food and drinks, which is just starting out and most recipes are taken from internet, there aren't original ones or too few of them. The most original recipes are meat based because we just love meat, then we have spins on pizza and pasta, and amazing ice cream/gelato.

Very good days! First I want to tell you that a place that you would have liked a lot is the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden, in the Palermo neighborhood. I think you would have felt very comfortable there. On the other hand, I want to apologize on behalf of my compatriots for some inappropriate comments. It is very typical of Argentines to look for controversy in any place that the country is named. Don't listen to them, it happens on any KZread, Instagram or Tik Tok channel that has a theme from our country. Greetings from Buenos Aires!

Thank you! Our friend got us the tickets, which was organized by a company. I learned that the Boca Junior games are technically members only-that’s why it was so challenging and strange to go through security. We were told to blend in… grateful anyway that I got to experience it once
