Instead of a micro fibre towel or T-shirt, I use silk/satin headscarves….they don’t absorb too much water but they really encourage curls to clump smoothly. I use on on my head, one round my shoulders and I microplop with the damp one

I have always had really fine, frizzy, tangle-prone hair. I thought my hair was straight because my mom has straight hair, but my hair never behaved like my mom's hair does. I am 38 and discovered last year that my hair is wavy. I was shocked. I have not yet been able to get day 2 or 3 hair to look really good like day 1 hair, but my hair looks so much better now. Thanks for your tips, and keep up the great work!!!

What I have found when sleeping at night is wrapping my hair in a silk scarf and THEN putting a bonnet on top but I know that’s a lot of things on the head 😅 but it works! Do what works for you! Love this video Soph ❤

It’s taken me a full year to get more confident with my styling and work out which products work for me, and I’m finally in a good place with my 2C hair. I’ve grown to like the look of it compared to smoothed/straightened hair and made peace with it not always looking perfect. All your videos and tips have helped so much. Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤

Your channel has grown so much since your first video! I love the longer content of videos you put out! This wont work for everyone but I found using an oil as a prepoo a few hours or overnight before washing cuts down my detangling so much! It helps me remove alot of the shed hairs since I only wash my hair once a week. I usually finger detangle which I find the most gentle on my hair before using a hair tool since I can actually feel the knots and tangles. I also found my hair seems to grow faster since it helps me so much with moisture and length retention doing it this way!

I am close to cutting all of my hair off because at 50 and 2C, nothing is working. Nothing tames the frizz and I don't have time for all of this. I cannot tell you how many hours I spend looking at videos like these and updos for curly hair...and all of y'all are gorgeous curly girlies but not me.

I’ll be 52 in a couple of months and I started giving attention to my curles 3-4 years ago because of the covid situation and masks in hospitals, I’m a doctor and I needed to let my hair grow long enough to stay in a bun while I’m at work, please don’t give up, in my experience all you have to do is try something different each and every time you wash your hair, some more or less product, some more or less water added, you will find what makes your curls happy!

Hi there, thanks for your videos, I still learn a lot. Unfortunately I cannot get all of your recommended products, because I am from Germany and we don't have them here. Maybe I can find something similar, f.e. this deep conditioner from Garnier. And I use a special net plop bonnet to pre-dry my hair before diffusung. Wearing it for about 10-15 min, while get dressed, etc. It shortens the hovering/diffusing process a lot. Looking forward whats upcoming next on your channel. I just discovered it yesterday afternoon. Best from Duesseldorf 💃🏽🍾🥂🥳👍😘😍

Hello, fellow German here 🙂 Das Garnier Fructis Hairfood (Banana, Papaya...) ist in jedem Drogeriemarkt erhältlich und erschwinglich. I love it. Aber jetzt lebe ich in South East Asia und da ist es sehr teuer und kaum erhältlich.😢 Was ich aus D mitbringe, wird streng rationiert! 😅 Best of luck with your hair journey and best wishes ❤

I would kust like to thank you for what you do here. Although we have very different curls, mine being much finer and less dense than yours, but very curly, you have really helped me. At 58 (nearly one higher😅), I have spent my entire life up to a month ago ignoring it. My mother literally controlled it (and me .... she died recently and I'm two months into long overdue therapy) so I had no idea it was even curly until much later in life. My hair was like a symbol of how awful I was (hard to be awful from birth I think) and I internalised that and, as an adult, either pinned it up or cut it off. I hated it. I started to let all the, again long overdue, whites and greys come through during lockdown, despite being constantly told how awful I looked, but I still tied it up. A month ago I stopped. The paranoia when I LEFT THE HOUSE like that was huge but, of course, the world didn't end and I started to hunt on here. So much content by so many people, most of whom are young, beautiful and with the very thick hair I once had. Very confusing and, of course, disheartening because this is social media and I'm old enough to know that there's a lot of smoke and mirrors involved and how easy it would be to just give up and think there's no point because I'll never look like that and nor will my hair. HOWEVER, I stumbled across you and applied some of your advice, notably the silk scarves and your sensible UK based approach. Between you, Gena Marie and Miss Charmsie (her three pigtails in a bonnet works for me) I think I can turn this around! Lots of trial and error, and no doubt I'll end up with tonnes of half teied products, but I'm okay with that. I have never spent money on my hair in my life, just hacked away with old scissors (it's all over the place!) so I'll indulge now. The one thing I do need is a good diffusing hairdryer. I looked at Dysons but I don't need multiple tools as I will NEVER be uncurly again, and I have read that the diffuser isn't the greatest. Is the Curlsmith genuinely good? I have read so many reviews of so many options that my brain is going to explode (it's exhausting but fun, this hair stuff!) so I just need to decide. I know nothing is a miracle worker, and that a lot will be down to technique which is up to me (with help from watching you etc), but I would genuinely appreciate your honest opinion on it. Also, thank you for your series of hair styling with curly hair. I work from home in SW UK so, to be honest, nobody really sees me (except for the sheep!) but I live on the top of a hill and it's ALWAYS windy!! Apologies for the essay but I wanted you to know that I appreciate what you do, that it's making a big difference to me, and I wish you well.

I use a product called the hair drying headband and it really saves me time in the morning as I do my mourning routine while wearing it. I save so much time from not blow drying my hair. The secret is the PVA towel inside. The name of the company that makes it is dryhairday

I have type 2c/3a type mixed curls. My curls only look nice when I wash & style it. Next day curls are inexistent 😞 if I use more products to refresh, it makes it worse. Any tips for mixed curly hair types?

Amazing hair but I have a question instead of using a deep conditioner to detangle first can we use a regular in case we want to use a deep conditioner after?

Thanks so much! You definitely can do but sometimes I’ve found a deep conditioner can offer more slip (especially if they have lots of oils in) than some regular conditioners. Just make sure whatever you use is ok to be put near your scalp especially if you decide to leave it in for a little bit too
