I think most rice packages that you will find in the western market will be your small badges of like 500-1000g small bags and are already prepped. those are tight sealed in plastic and already cleaned and washed to the finest. At least most brands will be. So there is likely no reason to wash this kind of rice again before using it.

Arab in Europe here. Not all of the rice sold here is washed thoroughly, packaged in plastic bags and sealed. Especially basmati should always get washed and soaked.

*Tip for the curry:* throw the spices in your pan first and heat them up for a minute or so to let the flavours 'bloom' before adding your ginger/garlic/onion. You won't regret it! These dishes look so cozy and delightful, can't wait to try the chilli with the cocoa!!

@@nele3872 With oil works best. Not only does the oil help toast the spices without burning thrm, the spices flavor the oil. This flavors the entire dish. It's called tempering. Spices always taste so much better toasted in oil before adding them to any dish.

I'm so excited about a new dump and bake and a couple of new one-pot meals. Your mushroom stroganoff is to die for and on a regular rotation in our house. I can't believe how easy and yet how delicious it is. One tip I've learned since cashews and cashew butter is so dang expensive, I sub in vegan mayo (same amt.) for the cashew butter and it works perfectly. Thanks, Caitlin for more simple, affordable, and easy-to-follow recipes.

I will say buying a mild curry spice mix can be a wonderful ’hack’ for small kitchen or students. You can use it as a base for many meals with the addition of other spices. I make a cinnamon ‘mince’ taco filling and the spice is just the mix, cinnamon and as much chili flakes as the eater will allow.

I LOVED the recipes! Super simple and look delicious. I make a very similar coconut and red lentil curry (would just recommend adding some cummin seeds in the hot oil before everything else, they bring a really good taste to the final dish)

By the time your stroganoff segment was finishing, I was already organizing my ingredients and chopping my onions! Super good recipe! My rendition had edamame noodles for extra protein. Thanks for the recipes. Chipotle beans is next on my list!
