I wish we had a different way of notifying his family instead of getting the cops involved. Its never a good idea to call the cops on a person having a mental issue. Maybe just drive him to the local office and skip the escalated police encounter? I hope someone finds him safe. He's such a nice guy.

There's something satisfying and inspiring about seeing 4+ locomotives pulling hard with a big mixed manifest... the kind of thing that built and still builds this nation. Thanks JT, you make my day.

The radio chatter is always a good listen. I heard CSX dispatch the other day being not happy with a crew over the fuel amount. The train sat for 4 hours with a crew on board and only had 2000 gallons of fuel to go from Baltimore to Wilmington. They were unsure if it was going to make it. It was a 12,495 foot behemoth! Pray for Shoestring and pray for Baltimore!

Morning JT, Hamilton a hotbed of train action & police action too. The trains seem to be going faster than what they are sometimes it seemed it was going faster than 23mph. Great catches JT! ❤😊👍

That NS female conductor is a brunette, and she is a friendly gal. Saw a 1 minute video. When the engine went by, she went to the window and gave the peace sign. The natives are restless! But then I've seen 5 deputies show up for a dog bite! Sometimes I think they let them paint on those auto racks cause like you said, a ladder and allot of paint. Many of those gondolas, even the used ones, have little or no graffiti on them. They must go out in the middle of nowhere to be loaded, unloaded, or stored. ...Hmmm, didn't know that pot ash was that heavy - it's always blowing out of my ashtray! Hope Shoestring is OK! 🙏

JT have you heard anything else on shoestring because something ain’t right with that story for the hospital to let him go last Wednesday in Tennessee and him being disorientated they said he left his wallet, his keys and all of his traveling gear and now this morning they put out a silver alert on him But I just got a bad feeling about this. You had an enjoyable day of railfanning in the Hamilton, Ohio area on 4 March 2024, Jaw Tooth! The train action at Heaton Street was interesting to watch. You did catch some unexpected Hamilton, Ohio Police Department activity around the Heaton Street crossing. There must have been a major incident in the area to require some many police cars to respond to the area. Thank you for the additional footage at the road crossing to the Hamilton, Ohio water treatment plant. The defect detector near that crossing had a work out while you were there.

Gotta Love the Blue hub caps,i always worry about wheel bearings cause i don't like derailments.

Good Afternoon Jaw Tooth. Saw a train in town this morning.

JT...whenever you visit Hamilton, it's a "tour de force"!!! That "Gondola Parade" starting @2:30 was fabulous...ex-Southern "gon" has quite a sag @2:30...check out that former ConRail gon @3:43...not far behind was a really unique ex-MoPac gon @4:01 (notice the "telltale buzz-saw" herald hiding in the rust...not to mention the trademark "washboard" exterior). The "Blast From the Past" award goes to the BC Rail boxcar @6:13...😲 Yikes...when was the last time I saw one of those...anything "BC Rail", for that matter??? Awesome "flashbacks" to Conrail @ 9:54 and @10:10 in the late afternoon sun...beautiful screenshots. That "chugging" (locomotive) sound you like (as do others) is classic (patented) GE (FDL) power... Here's the "tough to swallow" comment (sorry...gotta do it)...STOP highlighting / giving credit to graffiti "taggers"...this is nothing more than abusive, disrespect for property that DOES NOT belong to them...plain and simple. Just "move on" to the next video subject, and to hell with these miscreants.

Always fun to watch the gondola medley and near the rear note the difference between the design and also the fact they all have the NS emblem but reporting marks NS as well as AOK and WRWK. A tip of the hat to those Conrail cars as we celebrate their 48th birthday. I saw the old school bus behind you so now you have the Toothmobile to cruise Cincinnati. Blanked out windows with a slightly vistadome top and theater style seating in the back. And the parade goes on

The LEDs in the flashers are operated on Pulse-width modulation. Every 10 seconds or so, the pulses are out of phase with your camera's refresh rate and so that's why it appears as though they go dark. If you slowed the video down 300x you would see that they flash about 60 times per second when they are on.

NS 4685 is part of a rebuild program began in 2015 to upgrade Dash 9s to AC44C6M. Numbered from 4000-4760. looks like 759 have been delivered and they must not be doing them in order as 4685 looks brand new. Their next order 4761-4860 is already in progress with 25 being built.

I hope hoboshoestring comes home safely back to Johnson city Tennessee

There's at least 15 or so beat-up gons on that train that still had their CR numbers on them. Just that one had the can opener with the Quality on it. And I think I saw at least one NYC (from the 1990s split).

I counted 92 cars on the NS auto rack train, JT. Pretty long for auto racks. 😊😊❤❤

@@JawTooth Look forward to it. I never ran into him in my travels. Seemed reasonable, other than using freights rather than Amtrak. Hope he hasn't wandered out somewhere and gotten stuck. Lived in TN for a year.... A rather pleasant area in the Chattanooga area.. but the guy running the software house decided to cut most of his staff my last year there... and I moved over to Charlotte to work on networks... I was probably fairly close in TN.. Spent time in both Chattanooga and Knoxville...

Nice EOT DPU on the NS southbound. Would've been neat to use the radar gun on the cop cars. Donut sale? Sometimes I make fun of the police but I have a thin blue line flag flying on the house. Excellent Hamilton action, enjoyed it immensely. Thanks JT!

Those locomotives on Norfolk Southern must get a lot of use quite a few of them look filthy but that in part is caused by there drab color I'm sure . Enjoy your vids as always.

Iam thinking a burglar alarm is going off back in there somewhere. Probably why they are turning off their sirens as they get closer so they dont spook anyone if they are still inside the building or residence.
