the 2 tip relly helped me cuz ive been puting limiter on master and getting weak sound especially when going for heavy genre thx

the thing about the fruity limiter, there's an envelope on it which really fucks with the sound.

I think tip #2 with limiters depends on how you're using it. Yes you shouldnt just slap it on but part of the reason why its crushing transients and ruining the mix is because you're getting inconsistent peaks of volume that runs into the limiter. If you use the Skrillex technique of stage limiting/clipping (which is just simply limiting/clipping different busses individually), you'll end up with a mix that is closer to being square like(hence more consistent) and therefore the limiter is doing consistent amounts of limiting.

Yeah... but.. soft clipping is really easy, and isn't too hard to get reasonable results from..
