Hey Jory! All your watch picks here are great examples that I trust anyone of us would love to own. I could enjoy all of them. The three that I would most appreciate would be the Reverso, the Speedy 57, and the Santos. Alas though, I acquired a three-hander w/o date complication that is my one and done watch. After considering the above three and many others, I pulled the trigger in December. It is my forever watch. Happy New Year and wishing you all the best as the Year of the Dragon is on the horizon.

Definitely with you on both that snazzy Cartier Santos in green and that toned down and sleek Speedmaster 57. Honestly, that’s the only speedmaster that I think I have truly enjoyed enough to consider buying.

About Gree dials, i actually like those a lot, i recently bought a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Mojito and it's quite an amazing thing to look.

The JLC red dial reverso is a stunning watch I remember the first time I saw it I was like that's a killer Combo

I can’t afford the Swiss stuff so Seiko is my jam lol I just got the new Seiko 5 Field GMT and I love it I even got a nice handwritten letter and the kicker is they included some cool origami. Thanks Daigo from Solid Store Japan❤ that made my day. The bracelet is sweet too nice and not what I expect of Seiko tbh. So that was a nice surprise as well pretty outstanding tbh and I don’t feel that way about Seiko often in the bracelet department

Is the Seiko Turtle the new SKX? It seems like it to me. My first 2 watches were Turtles,and never envisioned them ever gaing value.

You missed the Sea Dweller 116600. Shortest production run, 40mm, Ceramic, date function with no cyclops. The ultimate stealth Rolex. “Is that a Sub you’re wearing?” NO ! This is much better, it’s a Sea Dweller. 😊

What reference number do you think will appreciate more on the seiko turtle?

As the hype becomes a distant memory the watches that retain value or increase will be be the watches that are nice (pleasing to the eye) I agree with your opinion on the rootbeer I wear mine at the weekend and it makes me feel great, my wife wear a 2 tone everose DJ31 chocolate diamond dial didn't succumb to the hype and has enjoyed steady slow growth. 2 very classy well dressed friends of mine wear a Cartier Santos. The only reason red/yellow/turquoise OPs are worth the money is rarity if there was as many made as the green OP I think they would be close to retail. I consider myself well dressed but wearing a brightly coloured silly watch is not a good look.

I got my negative display one for £150 a few weeks ago I picked up a GWG 100 for £140 a day ago I went I to a jewellers yesterday the was 50% of everything when I started looking at watches the manager offered me further 30% discount of any watch so I think everything one in the watch sells industry is now feeling the pinch so the have to reduce prices to keep afloat

What about the discontinued Rolex Milgauss? It was the “serious enough BUT FUN” watch in the Rolex catalog …… and now there just isn’t one anymore 🤷🏽‍♂️

I just tried on the green dial Santos 3 weeks ago.

The Air King is the ONLY Rolex I actually like. Though not at the same level, two years ago I got an Orient Tristar with a stunning tropical sea blue dial for $120, from an Orient dealer in Istanbul, not realizing that they didn't make many of them and it was only for the Asian market. A couple of months ago I put a few photos on my Instagram with a beautiful hand made white leather strap (the bracelet was rubbish), and people started asking me if I would sell it. Only then did I realize that these watches cannot be found now. My highest offer was $850! But, I'll never sell it, it's my only dress watch, my only small watch at 37mm and I love it!

You're saying the Airking is not selling well? I'm in malaysia and ALL the authorised dealers here have ZERO inventory. It's been there since pandemic began

I think you’re probably right about the Reverso…..disagree with the rest. The Seiko turtle that might increase in value is the vintage one from the 80s. They’re really cool. These modern ones don’t do anything for me. They’re sort of like the new Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco. You can get those (the watch, not the vehicles) for $600-900 in great condition.

Citizen Promaster NY0040 series will go up as the rumour is they have been discontinued if so what a shame. The Rolex Air King looks fun.

The reason watches go up in value is because once the favourites are far too expensive the people buy the next best thing which is when the price goes up and so on and so on. I’ll give you an example. At one point when the two stone submariner was very popular the steel sub was £7500 then once everyone understood the two tones where far too expensive they wanted the steel sub and then the price of the steel subs went to £10500

Still waiting for my Casio F91W to sky rocket in price. Maybe buy a burger meal with the proceeds. 😐

The turtle has always Been on my “buy it eventually “ list. Finally pulled the trigger (SRPE03) after watching this video. Hasn’t left my wrist since it arrived. I get it, now.

Appreciate your videos and your views on how the watch community ebbs and flows. On another note, your website is difficult to navigate since 90% of it just shows sold watches. A feature that would allow me to filter those out or just remove the listing once sold would be highly beneificial.

I'm banking on my Traska being priceless. You can pry it from my cold dead hands and there won't be a single scratch on it, because you can't scratch it. I tried. My Grand Seiko, my Tudor both scratch when you breathe on them. Best GMT is the Traska and i know it had nothing to do with this video

I like your content, brother, but I'm on pick two, and these aren't cheap watches by any stretch of that phrase. The average US salary is less than 60k, and after taxes, these watches would be a giant chunk of that and wouldn't be considered cheap.

For 99.9999% of people, a barely sub $10,000 watch is not "cheap." Is it cheap compared to a $65,000 watch? Yes. But when your video title said, "cheap," I wasn't anticipating hearing about $10k watches. Just took my by surprise.

And the original omega 1957 reissue from the 90s-00s will probably appreciate more than the 1957 reissue that you sited. It’s a nice watch but it’s not even a true reissue in terms of design.

The Airking was, is, and always will be an awful watch. But it might go up in value anyway if discontinued, if only because that's just what happens to every Rolex. At some point in the future, for a two year period, it will be a hot watch, before everyone remembers how bad it looks.
