I love coming back to this game, just started it up again at Conference side Stevenage (pretty local to me IRL) only a few miles down the road. That month to month trick is priceless.

Players on a month to month with you don’t always sign for you… Also, who wouldn’t turn down “crazy” money for a month to month contract to then secure a better longer term contract somewhere else

I might be wrong but you don't even have to go on the squad or player page to take control of a national team. Where you see the team name it has the country next to it written in short term. ENG for England for example. If you click on that then you get the national team page.

650k is enough for one month, you don't need 2.1m, also if you keep them with delay option they will ask for less week salary, so you can use that time to build up some contracts so you build up wages, keep free transfer players on delay until you can offer what they ask

You don't have to play as a national team manager of a playable league as long as they have enough players in the game, for example Yugoslavia. You will need to have a close playable league selected though I think like Germany or Russia.

Yeah i think they are important if you want harmony in the squad. The guys with better non physical attributes less likely to kick up a fuss and cause problems. Also high determination i think in the end helps the players physical attributes as they work harder and improve faster.

@@larry9179 ah I see. I think the coaching outfield players and coaching gks is the most important attribute but the higher the better I say for others. I heard somewhere that having high work with youngsters means young players improve more in training and need less game time but I'm not sure.

Couple of questions... in your experience are you ok disciplining after a dismissal in the domestic cups? Secondly, if you are training a player in a new position does giving them game time in that position speed the process up?

Wait a few days after the sending off and read the match report to see if he was to blame first. If he is say pushed in the chest first or reacts to no penalty given then give him the benefit of the doubt. If he two foots or headbutts then fine him 1 week.

I know you're not asking me but from my experience you have to use a pretty specialised player. High in all the attacking and mental attributes. He's got to be Ronaldinho level of quality. Also play them behind the striker and make sure they have space to play in.

Nice one mate. Another tip that's not quite in the spirit, but after a few seasons missing out on the prem by just a point its gotta be done 😅 So when you are an international manager, you can scout your rivals for any injured good players and ensure they play. I have done this to good effect and gotten them injured again. Once with arsenal, Gary neville was having an epic season, torn groin 3 months out, then he returned on light training just in time for the England squad naming. I played him with about 20 percent fitness and finished his season 🤣 It's great you can be national and domestic manager at the same time Also if you are an international manager you can give one of your players a cap, it will boost their value if you are looking to sell them. Lastly, once a non EU player has a cap, you should be able to give them a work permit, so you can give them a cap to sign, however it's hard to get national manager of Argentina for example from my experience unless you've managed in Argentina for example

This thing that you did with Neville is lame and an exploit. Some of us enjoy the game without exploiting it.

The Non EU work permit rules need more than one cap. If you aren't offering them a huge amount in wages and an Indispensable team role they need to have played in 75% of their nations internationals over the previous 2 years. Their nation also has to be in the top 70 of FIFA rankings - in the latest updates this means you cannot sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern for a premier league team as Canada are outside the top 70.
