What is the difference between "true" tea and "herbal" tea? And what are the best types of tea for fighting diabetes and heart disease?
1) Green tea contains a variety of bioactive compounds, including EPIGALLOCATECHIN GALLATE, an antioxidant that has been shown to protect ENDOTHELIAL CELLS - or the lining of arteries - from oxidative damage caused by free radicals.
2) Turmeric tea is an herbal tea that contains the antioxidant CURCUMIN, which has been extensively studies for its potential to improve arterial health. Studies show that curcumin has the ability to significantly reduce certain inflammatory markers that are linked to atherosclerosis - meaning it can help protect against cardiovascular damage.
3) Ginseng tea supplies GINSENOSIDES - which have been found to help deactivate certain inflammatory responses in the body, thereby reducing the risk of chronic inflammation. That can help to mitigate the effects of multiple conditions, including heart disease.
4) Black tea provides powerful bioactive catechins and polyphenols, specifically THEAFLAVINS and THEARUBIGINS, which can increase antioxidant capacity in the bloodstream. This has been shown to reduce oxidative stress while protecting endothelial cells that line the arteries.
5) Chamomile tea possesses potent antioxidants, including FLAVONOIDS, TERPENOIDS, and POLYPHENOLS, which can reduce specific inflammatory markers that may mitigate the risk of arterial inflammation and arterial plaque buildup.

I drink (and you should too) Matcha green tea. It’s green tea leaves that are ground into a powder. So instead of steeping the leaves and then throwing them away, you are consuming the whole leaf. Which means that you’re going to get more of the wonderful benefits green tea has to offer 🤩 Just make sure you’re buying organic ceremonial Matcha, not culinary Matcha which is more bitter.

@@linmolina5901 No, it does not spike blood sugar. Do the google thing. Type “Health benefits of Matcha Green Tea”, or something like that. I always go past the first results that say sponsor, and you will find all the information you’re looking for. 🙂 Coffee has its benefits, but I think matcha has more, like L-Theanine that has a calming effect. No jitters and helps relax anxiety.

There are many tea types and regions in the world. Also, time of tea harvest affects the quality and amount of antioxidants. Green teas are semi fermented or lightly roasted with very high antioxidants. China grown white tea has the highest antioxidant content followed by the dragon tea. Oolong and jasmine teas are also very good for healthy living. Linden tea helps body to recover from cold and flue. So, drink more tea….❤

To me personally, this is very common knowledge. What’s important to note, consider getting an allergy test before consuming chamomile. I’m highly allergic to it. Many people are and most don’t know it. It’s basically a weed, given a fancy name. LOL Unfortunately it is added to many products these days, including shampoos, soaps, skin lotions and more. Take the time to get an allergy test and read labels.

That is an interesting question, though there may not yet be extensive studies investigating that exact topic. Best to avoid trying this experiment on yourself, though it most likely would not result in any significant side-effects. Still, just to play it safe, stick to consuming one type of tea at a time.

Well as much as there are benefits, there are also adverse side effects which are never mentioned. The safest way to manage diabetes is through healthy diet and exercise period. The majority of side effects that need to be mentioned are the high amounts of oxalates that increase the risk of kidney stones, And interfere with kidney function... and kidney function is a much higher concern for diabetics- especially those taking metformin! It also can cause diarrhea, indigestion, stomach ulcers, rash etc... it can also harm the liver. The worst part IMO is the reports that it can induce damage in several cell lines, including bone marrow cells! You don't have to be a doctor to know the facts, do your research and even though you can consider the advice given online, do your own complete research, talk to to your doctor before adding this to your day!
