The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

It's well played by BB. Alex is doing thing that aren't things. Its such a bad turn card for his range that he has to basically fold EVERYTHING. And he goes for raise??
I bet that all the people in the comments saying Doug was too happy for folding his kings, have never folded kings in their lives.
@ryanrogers7419

I’ve folded them 3 times pre, admittedly one time was an incorrect fold. But facing a 6-bet from Andrew of all people would definitely qualify for an easy fold of kings.
@ActivistVictor

I don’t think I’ve ever folded them, but I did just call a raise suspecting aces once (I was right)…. And then proceeded to flop quads lol, and even better, somehow they still felt aces were the nuts with two kings out there and jammed turn

I have (against Nit players 6 betting) and it kinda was, not by a lot ofc it’s hype asf to fold KK that deep stacked in a cash game and be right. But Neeme doesn’t mess around at all and with that many BBs, it’s almost expected for a player of Doug’s calibre to fold that at least sometimes.
Alex is the new Mariano. The guy goes into the tank after almost every check, it's fucking infuriating to watch.
Calling Q-high (soul read?) almost as good as calling all-in with J-high (J-4).

The 6-bet with AA after postering just SCREAMED AA... better to go all-in... Doug possibly would have called to see 2 boards... So many more hands are just shoving there than 6-betting... A-Xs nit can shove, JJ, QQ, AK, AQ, yet O of those hands 6 bets for less than all-in there..

doug is an amazing player, sb limp vs bb after checking flop betting turn and then the ultra polarized river bet when the obvious semi bluffs don't make it. It looks crazy but if you really think about foxen's range, its not too crazy to call but it is definitely impressive to actually do it.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think Alex thought they were playing the nit game.

I’m just surprised that the commentator doesn’t understand that AK is a bluff in this spot. Like how can AK be value of your opponents TT are indifferent?
I’m watching live I don’t know how the hand ends yet but that min raise by Alex on the turn was a terrible bet🤣 compared to the size of the pot and how much he tanked that was so exploitable. Lit that money on fire.

With 180+ bb already in the pot, it's time to try and take it down/eliminate as many opponents as possible to maximize equity/winning chances. I would have gone all in--there's a small chance someone might call, thinking I'm overplaying something a tad weaker. It's rare to win 180+ BB with any starting hand.
