I just ordered the presto because it’s the only thing it was stainless steel inside. In other words even where the stem goes is stainless steel. I have one that has a different metal where the stem goes. It turns black and it constantly is hard to clean and you don’t want to make up a coffee in it with how bad that thing looks so it’s like the position where the stem goes when you are putting it together on the bottom that heats the water around the stem I think it’s just gross all the time, so I ordered the presto

You don't want to clean the inside. just like Moka pots the inside should never be cleaned to bare metal as that is a seasoned pot. just descale when necc.

Mine is a Hamilton Beach but looks just like the Presto. I prefer the ones with the glass knob on the lid, but I didn't see the justification of paying more $$ for it. It has no function other than allowing you to see the coffee as it percolates and gets darker. It doesn't affect the coffee at all. The one I have works great and brews 12 cups in about 10 minutes. My parents had one when I was young, made by KitchenAid, that looked like these but had the glass knob on the lid. It was used at least 3 times a day for over 30 years and was still operational the last time I saw it.

What would happen if you put the first one in the refrigerator overnight? Would it break?

I need a perculator with a timer. I bought a perculator, I think it was the Presto one and it doesnt brew long enough to make good coffee. It just gets to boil and stops brewing. It wont be good unless it brews it for a few minutes or so. I dont know whats wrong with all these perculators but Ive literally only seen like 1 decent one on the market, that has a timer, so I bought that one and love it. WTF though? GOd all these other ones suck, or I dont know what Im doing wrong then.

Don’t understand why some companies keep making these without the glass knob on top.

True, may be because of fragility and they need to get glass resource from third party. Glass knob on top would be best so we know how much coffee Is ready for use.

I do not like any of these coffee percolators because they do not have a dial to percolate the strength of coffee, from weak to strong ,years ago percolators were made with such a switch, consequently , because they are no longer made I have switched to a drip coffee maker.

Who asked you? Post this in a Drip Coffee maker post. This is to REVEW Pecolators, for those of us who don't care about the dial, which obviously has become obsolete for a reason. ( "Didn't work?!)
