5 BASS TONES Every Bass Player Should Know | 5 under 5
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I've talked a lot about how bass pedals can transform your bass tone in the past; and they can, but the reality is that you don't need to spend money on pedals until you understand the fundamentals of creating tone.
In today's episode of 5 under 5 we will being going through the ins and outs of getting the best bass tones with just your hands only.
I promised I tried to stay under 5 minutes, but this one was tough.
Don't kill me in the comments please!
Thank you for watching!

Great to hear this instruction from a pro! Thank you.
Lookin n playin good Travis ~ thanks for sharing ur wisdom.
Been playing bass on and off for a while and never heard of that fretting-hand fingerstyle muting! Nice :D
I’d seen you talking about that muting before, but I’d forgotten about it. Awesome info.
a phenomenal lesson as expected from the best tutor on YT 👑😁, Travis Dykes ✅.
Stellar brother! Cant wait for our collab!!!
Nice fret hand muted playing tip!

Been playing drums, guitar, and keyboard for so many years now. Started bass just over a year ago & it’s actually the most fun of all..

Thumbs up bro 👍❤️❤️
Travis thanks for the tip, great lesson. would you please if you have time to break down the song (Gospel Ship) by Brotherhood Chorale. It seems to be very off beat. Very hard to catch.
The O Jay's - for the love of money, is a super cool funk bass line played with a pick
Check out Bobby Vega for pickstyle playin bass...he's ridiculous man lol!

A very useful information. God bless you
I see Moog!!
Excellent video. When( muted tone ) came up, I automatically thought of James Jamerson.
Travis my friend master Dios te bendiga soy cubano un abrazo
“Let me know your opinion in the comments” knowing we’re going to anyways ! Great Video Travis thanks!
Fun fact: Legendary pick funkster Bobby Vega uses the shoulder of his pick on the string rather than the tip. There's one extra finger style tone available which gets you an audible subharmonic if you pluck directly over the fret which is an octave up the string from your fretted note eg play G (third fret on the E string) and pluck directly over the fifteenth fret on the E string until your ear confirms!
Cool video. I never understood these fools who are so against playing bass with a pick.
🔥🔥💪💪🎊
Love this bass. What is it?
I don't know how you guys do that slap style. I've been working on it all I can get is a thud or a tick right now. Not even a sound. Just like I'm slapping toothpicks together or something like that. LOL
In. Hands...truth
What is the name of that bass that was used in the video?

It’s a Bass Mods K534!
The more techniques you can master the better. I don't know why people bash using a pick.
That last tone is Bobby tone
Sixty Millimeter!?!?!?!?
Thank you for not going straight to a computer and plugins.
There appears to be a SCAM that Travis is giving away prizes
