As a beginner Upright bass player and also someone who is learning to analyse and absorb Jazz vocabulary. Videos like these really open up new paths to discover for self taught musicians. I know that i will be listening to basslines so much more differently after this, and I also look forward to the videos on each specific shape! Thank you for your time, energy and precision with these videos, Matt. Love from Mumbai, India.

45 minutes. This will keep me occupied while my wife takes over the kitchen (I had it yesterday) and we wait for the guests to show up. Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Matt Hello there Sir from London England 🇬🇧 Fairly new to double bass so good lessons are essential. Your lessons are absolutely the best ive found on KZread ( This lesson for example Paul Chambers Scott etc ...simply the best ) also including backing tracks is such a useful tool. Your descriptions and analysis of lines is so clear and concise ... keep 'em coming!! Harry Blue

I also wish to express my gratitude for the quality of these videos. Your delivery is precise, but always empathetic. I value the tracks at the end of the lesson, providing as they do the immediate opportunity to practise the principles that have just been enunciated. Your playing and tone are a real treat, too. All best wishes from the UK.

Great lesson ! Many thanks ! And since you ask: no the ireal pro backing tracks at the end aren't really usefull to me. I cannot imagine a bass player without ireal pro, or without a tuner or a metronome...
