5/8" Contour Sander brought to you by Pete Blair AKA the mad scientist
Quick video showing the process for creating a 5/8" contour sander to use with Dremel or Foredom tools. The details of the rubber are at the end of the video. You will see me fool around with washers at the start of the video. My mandrels come with 2 washers that are not ideal for this sander. Depending on the size of mandrel you have you may have to find washers that will work for you. Ideally they should be close to but slightly smaller than the OD of the rubber. I did find that the inner hole is just a little too large and to make the sander more secure I added a couple of wraps of masking tape on the Pete Blair Slow Speed mandrel. Music score is thanks to Jesse Herrin "Fought to Feel". Thanks Jesse for allowing me to use your music.

That's great Mark, I really like to hear about it when something I do helps other carvers!
One of the most versatile tools you can add too rotary carving! Works excellent running emery cloth, scotch-bright, or a blade, Thanks Peter!!
