In mangalore we call it Suran only. Instead of cooking it in pressure cooker first put oil in handi add mustard seeds then curry patha , one big onion once is is little brown in colour add bafat powder which I suppose is available in gulf in kuwait we get it then add coconut fry a little next add tamarind water finally add suran mix well add little water above Suran and keep on low flame. Keep string in the middle . Within ten minutes it is ready.

U can try dry sabzi of this using chilli powder and later then give tadka... Churan gadda it is called....

Yes even I use chilli powder if bafat powder is not available at home

Keep the curry leaves ( just the leaves only ) in a ziplock bag, it lasts for weeks
