@@themopar426 It took a fair bit of dedication, and a diverse diet of music from Jaco Pastorius and Django Reinhardt to Motörhead and AC/DC. (Don't knock that last one either; they may have only made one album 18 times, but they have the tightest most disciplined rhythm section in the industry.) But there's nothing like starting off with Thunderfingers to light that flame in your heart and put stars in your eyes for the possibilities of the Bass Guitar.

Been a fan of The Who for many years. Also a fan of Rush for many years. Pretty sure Geddy Lee was inspired by John. Interesting to note John seems to favour the low end of the bass, while Geddy goes all over it! Both masters of their instrument!

Well not out of sync when I watched it. What can we say?! If you know the original then you will know that this is a great live performance. Entwhistle's solo was class! (can't help wondering it sniff had something to do with his confident gusto). Quadrophenia is arguably one their best album. What a band!

this DVD was shot at Wright State University, Dayton,Ohio. Audience shots were edited in from other shows. Gary Glitter was there but he was cut out and replaced by PJ Proby. Glitter was shitcanned halfway thru the tour because he kept fucking up. After his legal troubles I think THE WHO wanted to distance themselves from him as far as they could. Anyway, this was the first show in the states, Monday, Nov. 4 1996. I was there!

He didn't suck, he just didn't deviate form the classic backbeat much - he was a transition to today's drumming, in a way. Listen to Tomorrow Never Knows or Rain; hell Magical Mystery Tour as a whole is Ringo's peak. But this isn't about Ringo, is it? It's about his son and the AMAZING BAND he drums for! THE WHO FOREVER!

I remember seeing The Who for the first time in 1989, and John's fingers flying all over the place led me to calling him "Eddie Van Entwistle". I gained a new appreciation for him and his role in the band after that show.

Zac Starkey does a more than competent job of drumming for the band, but where do you find a replacement for the "Ox", be great if someone could then we might have a chance of seeing and hearing the Who perform live again in a way that they should. That is if Rogers voice can hold out......he is brilliant on this one by the way!

The thing you have to remember about Zac is; he was Keith Moons Godson......I met Zac and his dad about 4 years before this was shot during the Allstar Band Tour that Zac (19 at the time) played drums on stage right and did an amazing job. He is not Keith.......but he is his Godson.....so there is some nice Karma there. He and his father were both wonderful human beings.
