Hey suggestion for the deck. You should put down some of those kitchen rubber mats, the kind they have in restaurants, with the holes. This allows all the blood and debris to go through the holes and keeps feet and other abrasive objects off the deck. Then you can just remove them and hose the deck down :) My uncle used them on his boat and they were AMAZING.

I've heard you shouldn't glass down a center console because the constant stress and strain will crack the glass at the edges. You should instead screw it down and seal the edges. So just keep an eye out for cracks at the base I suppose.

Thanks for the advice!! After reading I decided to reinstall the metal brackets over the fiberglass to make sure it doesn't crack or move. I appreciate it!

Fyi Atlantic Puffers are amazing eating. A trolling motor is a ame chaner, but will cost nearly as much as the whole boat

A good way to cut down on how much fairing compound you use. Is to chop up some fiber glass and make a thicken resin mix and put it into a a ziplock bag and cut corner out. You can fill up a lot of low spots with the thicken resin then fair

I don't think people understand how much beating a boat takes. Bubbles makes the curing process weak. So you might enjoy the boat for a year or two until everything starts cracking apart. Doesn't need to be perfect but why not take the time to make it good so it lasts 15, 20 years instead of 2? A great start though to get it going!

Good for you man. I'm just starting a refurbish project on a 50 year old cc older than me! It's hard to know where to start. Gotta take the time to enjoy it along the way so we don't just see work

i think i got a pretty good price, mostly because of the motor. a 90hp 4 stroke in good condition can run you $5k+ alone. thanks for the comment!
