Charles Taylor of Mississippi State nearly lost the race when he got tangled up with Purdue's Shawndail McLaren on the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay at the 2016 Alex Wilson Invitational, but the Bulldogs came out on top in 3:06.69, the #7 time in NCAA track and field for 2016.

@@Professional_KZread_Commenter .....The Iowa runner was probably May'yea Harris out of the famous Long Beach Poly high school in Cali; which produced many great track & field stars and Olympians. I remember a few years back at the NCAAs outdoor Iowa ran 3:00 in the 4x4; and could only place 4th. that was a hell of a race!

It is. One of the basic rules of track is to go around whoever you're trying to pass. Instead, he boxed him inside the lane and attempted to get him disqualified for stepping out. There was also physical contact that forced the man on the inside to have to fall back rather than speed up. Regardless, "cheaters never prosper".
