Stock first gen! I think these things are gonna go up in value in a few years (well I hope so lol)

Impressive that this slow stock truck can do this. I have an 04 Xterra which is also slow and on stock suspension but with all terrain tires. Glad to see what these things are capable of doing.

Love my first gen, I’ve been looking for some good videos on them that aren’t 480p lol. Thanks for creating this

Ditching the rear sway bar really helps articulation. And a front Lokka is a cheap awesome traction aid.

Amazing what 4WD will do even with city slick tires.

Awesome video...I like seeing the Xterra get some screen time! Nice work with a stock vehicle and taking clean lines! I have some Nissan Xterra videos if you are interesting in checking them out (learning about lift kits, offroading mods, repairs, etc).

Yeah, I have a few more videos of us taking it all around Michigan, its a trooper. Good size tires, reliable drive train and the suspension seems to be able to handle the abuse right from the factory. If you watch some old reviews from when these were new, people were saying it was one of the most capable off the shelf offroad vehicles you could get.

4WDeparture That’s what he is hoping we should be taking it out next Saturday to test it out. We are going to do a comparison video. We have a Jeep but I’m not a Jeep snob I say “dance with the one that brought you”. thank you for the videos.

Am retired Nissan and ASE master tech. Found a cherry 1st yr X needed a dist. Garaged. Replaces my 97 pathfinder. Love the rocky trails in the Ouchitas.

Be sure to replace the factory radiator if you value your transmission.

@@ITS305TIME Yep im pretty sure the second gens only had the S.M.O.D. (Strawberry Milkshake of Death in the rad) up until about 2010

Yeah im a used car dealer in real life, i know that something we look outfor when buying those, problem is nissan decided to put a 10mm hold down the dipstick so you can even check the fluid unless you keep a 10mm on you

@@ITS305TIME, I commented early then saw the drag strip. That pretty much confirmed it for me before you got a chance to respond..lol. I've been wanting to take my truck there, but don't have a trailer yet. It's approximately 120 miles one way for me. I do all my wheeling at the Mounds in Mt. Morris. It's really close to home so it's easy to get it back if/when I break something.
