Hi. Do you mind sharing how you saved all her work from 3th grade? Do you make a folder for each grade keeping a few pages of each work book and subject then throw the books out, or how do you save her work?

Right on time! This will be our 1st year fully homeschooling. We've been doing some course s through Florida virtual. I am so excited to subscribe and view your videos.

Thank you so much for your videos. You also reminded me as well to stop trying to have so much on my plate and just relax and enjoy TG&TB as is. It is amazing curriculum and I really love it. You might need to stop over at Ashley channel Grace and Grit and listen to those wonderful words about TG&TB just to ease your mind. She explains how the writing,grammar and all it has to offer is enough. She said she didn't have to add anything at all. That is why I am just sticking to it. Good luck

Hi Dina! I use IEW for my son, and my opinion (not that you want one 😂) is that 5th grade is an excellent time to start it. My son started it the second semester of his 4th grade year and honestly, it may have been better to just wait until 5th grade. Granted, each child is different, but just throwing it out there. 😊

@@PursuingPeaceGood to know - this is the first I’ve heard that for Level 4!! My oldest is in Grade 3, so I’m hoping the new edition Grade 4 will be out by the time we need it!!

😎My 4 girls adore the TGTB curriculum! My 9 yr old has been asking to start these new books now lol :) She doesn't want to wait until next month!

I love the good and the beautiful level four language arts. Although I did think the writing portion was more of a third grade level, but overall it's a great curriculum

Agreed! I think the writing is a little advanced. So we take it slow...especially with my reluctant writers. :)

We were also going to start IEW this year for 3rd grade but decided not to and are instead going with Just Write 3. 3rd grade is such a big year and I didn't want my daughter bogged down by all the extra work, when we could just enjoy homeschooling as it's intended to be. I second you just going with what's offered in Level 4 LA for your 4th grader. I was looking at level 4 just the other day to examine the writing lesson portion for next year and actually liked what I saw. So, it looks like we won't be doing IEW for 4th next year, either. Happy homeschooling!!!

My 6th grader last year did IEW 1A and I’m actually having my now 4th grader do it this year. For my now 7th grader (who did it last year, she’s doing 1B). We also use TGTB Language arts but I felt it was lacking in writing and IEW is just so impressive. I’ll have to post back on how my now 4th grader does with IEW if you’d like?

We are doing Our star spangled story from Notgrass and masterbooks. But we are not doing the workbooks. Just the reading and discussing for us. We may even pick a book from library (similar to beautiful feet style) if we have time.

Hiii Dina! We’re in a year and a half into our homeschooling journey. If you don’t mind me asking, what age is your 4th grader? My daughter will be 10 next month, and we aren’t sure if it needs to be 3rd or 4th! Thank you! ❤

Thank you for the reply! I agree. According to the public school system she needs to be in 5th, but that just doesn’t sit right with me lol, so I kinda wanted to gage what other homeschool mamas are doing 💕

@@erickadoblado5149 Most curriculum will have an assessment to see what level of that curriculum your child needs to start with. You can say she's in 4th grade, the her math might be level 3 and her LA Level 4 or visa versa and that's ok.

❤ this!! Could you do a video whether or not you "struggled" with grade placement based on age. Or what you've wrestled with regarding this? My son turns 9 in November and is state standard grade 4, however we're finishing level 2 MWC and will be on track for level 3 by early Sept. I feel terrible at times but know it's where he's at, because I could totally tell his overwhelm with what we were using before.

May I ask why you are supplementing grammar? Do you feel GATB is not complete?

My daughter just needed more practice. She was having trouble every time we got to the editing sections in TGTB. But TGTB might be enough editing grammar for some children.

So you aren't in Texas anymore? My daughter in law will be tutoring Ch.4 CC this yr in el paso. My son is in Army.

No, my parents were missionaries for 9 years in Belgium. And in that country in the 80s, your citizenship was what your mom was. @@PursuingPeace
