    @@coziamsaltysweeeeet if u look at the numbers 3rd and 4th gen really have similar numbers of genres and concepts (4th gen having just a few more) so whatever you consider more or less boring is entirely up to the genres and concepts you like. if you think 3rd gen isn't as boring that probably means you prefer their largely synth and jazz sound as opposed to 4th gens edm sound

    honestly I feel like anyone could say this abt any generation. Each generation has its sound signatures, which is how u can tell what gen a song is from just by listening to it. 4th gen likely has the most diverse range of genres - there’s absolutely genres from 4th gen you can’t find in previous gens, but there’s no genres from previous gens that haven’t been carried over or modified to fit 4th gen. This is coming from someone who enjoys kpop songs from the beginning to present day. people probably just miss… back then. It was a different time, different vibes, remembered fondly through rose coloured glasses. I wasn’t there but I get the nostalgia for past gens. At the same time, I’m really excited to see what the future of kpop holds~ Great video by the way :) ❤

    I'm mostly a 3rd gen fan but 4th gen groups are absolutely not untalented. I'm already a casual fan of a lot of these newer groups and they show so much potential. that whole "they're only focused on dance" thing is bs too. there are so many amazing vocalists in this gen, like ningning, winter, lily, jongho, taehyun, etc. there are also great rappers like soyeon, yuki, rei, changbin, jisung, hongjoong, mingi, etc. it's these people by who criticize them that are more focused on the dance.

For example, NMIXX, Itzy, StayC, Purple Kiss, Billlie, Fifty Fifty, Pixy, Hi-key, LeSserafim, GIDLE, etc. I am sure there are many girl groups that more well known and some groups that not known by the public have sang live at some point in a performance.

    The ones who say that 4th gen is boring are prob 2nd&3rd gen biased stans because they've used that as reference point at seeing and listening to the similarities in this gen. Like concepts, melodies and song composition that was seen in older songs. But honestly, all the gens do have some boring and repetitive songs. Theyre just forgotten at this point and all the big hits and unique ones remain somewhat known nowadays. Only thing i would say for this gen is most of the mvs are so much about performance and dancing. Only sometimes do i see story-based mvs.

    I’ve always thought you can’t put a kpop song in just one genre because the hallmark of kpop is that they mix more than one genre in a song, sometimes they mix 3 genres and sometimes even more than 3! So I think every song should have a list of all the genres it has, but yeah, that also makes every song so unique, kpop is still good, it just has evolved so I agree

Also i feel like people complain about 4th gen music being repetitive because they don't give themselves the chance to listen to other stuff, there's a bunch of kpop mv's with less than 500k views bc their companies don't have the budget to promote them but the music and the concepts are GOOD

    I've thought alot about why I find 4th gen more boring & aside from how 4th gen have darker concepts & 3rd gen had more of an uplifting vibe,I realized it's mostly bcs I've grown out of kpop. it's repetitive to me bcs ...it is a repetition,newer generation of idols with slightly different concepts & songs but they're mostly just like older generations.& the whole thing was exciting & enjoyable to me bcs it was new & fresh (to me).now everything is predictable,I know from experience how certain fandom dramas will end,where certain idols with certain talents will most likey end up,how long groups usually last,what to expect from different agencies & anything in between. I've heard almost all the genres 4th gen explore in older kpop, & even the most fresh & new concepts in 4th gen have been done before,maybe not exactly like this & not in kpop but it isn't really "new" to me. it's boring bcs I've experienced it before,& it's weird joining a new young fandom & see the same things happen & people argue over things while you know exactly which phase they'll enter after this & the ones after that too.I know FOR SURE that if I was born few years later & found out about kpop late I'd definitely love 4th gen. it'd be as exciting as 3rd gen was exciting to me. some of us need to make peace with the fact that we'll never experience those feelings ever again.

    i think its about a way of singing that makes all this sound quite the same, as every group has a bunch of high pitched members and if they're girls also is cute high pitch. they lack differente personalities and voices, but to say thats whats tells them appart from 2nd and 3rd gen might be biased because i can remember also lots of patterns on old gens as well. might be the nostalgia factor that makes u remember ur favs and the special ones.

  • @emyarla

    @emyarla

    Жыл бұрын

    I think nostalgia factor and also the execution of lyrics especially the English ones for example tomboy lyrics and aespa w savage and good boy gone bad txt idk how else to put this into words ik 3rd gen has questionable English lyrics but their execution didn’t make it beyond corny I think a good example of this is cherry bomb by nct 127 and boombayah blackpink. I think the personalities of the idols and voices are not as distinguishable as they once were. To be honest I can’t point out a single 4th gen bg or gg member if they sang alone like I can w 2nd and 3rd gen like if CL sings as a feature in someone’s song i KNOW it’s CL. Or if B.I. sings alone i KNOW it’s B.I. also not hating on any groups i very much think that cancel culture has definitely shut down what idols can openly show and express in terms of personality so ik that what’s on the screen isn’t even half of who they rly are compared to previous groups where I think they showed at least half of who they were
