I like the part where wind's howling

I was seriously wondering if a drowner or a griffin would pop up somewhere during this. It looks really good. 👍

Everything looks great, but Epic needs to start focusing on more realistic weather effects. The swaying plants looked a little ridiculous at times, floating back and forth as if the whole environment was under water. Yet, despite the constant wind, the leaves all fall down as if the air is still. This normally wouldn't matter, but for a tech demo, it can be very noticeable, especially when all the assets look super real and the lighting looks so beautiful. Imagine this demo with still air, and then a massive gust of wind kicks up dust, blows leaves off trees, and sends the entire forest into a frenzy before relaxing and everything going still again. That alone would crank up the immersion of the experience.

*People seeing this for the first time*: "Looks nice!" *People who watched the original demo reveal*: "That fuckin' scarecrow!"

Nah it will look better than this but my only concern is that i hope it is not going to be like Cyberpunk when it was launched, fingers crossed guys

Not on consoles. I doubt it. Let’s not forget though that even on high end PCs this is just a small fraction of what CDPR has to make which is a massive Open World and that should be the focus more than just graphics.

That would be already much and much better 👍 sometimes cracking little wooden sticks by stepping on it would also be grade 👍

Not that true

Even that 4090 is struggling to hit that 60 fps, add in Npc's and frames will dramatically dip, ain't no way witcher 5 will look like this especially with how weak consoles are compared to with which seems to be the 4090. Unless they plan to release it on next-gen consoles which is highly unlikely.

By that time we'd have newer top end hardware. Also the evionments are probably going to be the biggest hit to your PC when you're talking about pushing your graphics this hard and high. It could honestly look even better than this, by the time it comes out. Also PC has been getting a lot more love and attention lately to make sure that it's above and beyond what we see on consoles so , that might not even be a problem. Chin up!

This is also playing in editor, about the same performance with my 1070 with lumen AND nanite within unreal 5.1 in around 1080p (abit buggy and why its not showcased here) so imagine if this project was built for 5, would run alot better than what is showcased here

Looking at the new achivements/techniques of nvidia/amdfor example (dlss 3.0/fsr etc) it is realistic that it comes close, especially looking at the plague tales requiem of 2022.

With the slow advancement of graphic card power we see in the past few years, maybe it will take another 5-8 years before this turns into a playable game (that is playable by a large enough group of players for the game to be profitable)

I doubt even PS6 will handle this level of graphics & so many gigabytes of storage will be required and graphics cards will be bricked.

Hopefully it won't... this is more like Kingdom Come. Maybe some future version of Elder Scrolls, but definitely not the Witcher. Witcher is not about photo realism. Witcher is about Nordic, Celtic and Slavic folklore, fairy tales that are sometimes grey but sometimes very colorful and in each case full of life. Witcher is game with a soul! (unlike the series that were pure soulless heresy)

Very late comment - song is called Kaer Morhen it’s part of the Witcher 3 OST

Not a single NPC, no game logic running... This look is only computationaly viable on a lifeless system. The moment you start adding actual gameplay, everything gets toned down.

The devs can do even far better than this, Unfortunately, we don't have the processing power. mainly console. On the pc side this very achievable right now no problem with high-end setup, but not everybody have that, in fact very small percentage own high end setup, most pc users have console level or lower setup. so no point for the devs to push that boundary yet. give it a few years when we have an actual "next gen" console

Its not bad but can you imagine you would walk like the witcher in those environment? Look youtu: how i quickly create 3d environments in unreal engine 5. This would be the best sold game in the world ever. Its like playing life in a movie. Can you see the difference with the plants, leaves and trees with this preview and the one on youtu? Imagine you add the witcher character in that youtu made unreal engine 5 environment. I know i push the limits but i know its possible. I would not mind to pay 100 dollar for such a game. If you want to make the difference my dear witcher creators this the way to go not only for gamers but also for your wallet 🤑 you astounded us once i bet you can do it twice 👍

I have Nvidia GeForce 256, 2000 series graphics card, will it play?

99% of peoples pc wouldn't run this. Though someone should make a game that looks like this for the 1% and just charge more for it. If full games come out looking like this and actually ran well, Id build a brand new pc with all the best parts instantly. Alas, devlopers make games so they run on console, because thats where the money is.

Nice. Still a generation behind what secret services are having, but this is some development that people really enjoy to see in public.
