I completely agree. It is such a beautiful drive!

A gem right in the middle of California and you captured it very well. I love visiting Monterey, but many call it boring compared to other more active beach cities. Lets hope it stay's 'boring'.

@@Nicole-tp3fn Oh you have not been here yet?! Yes put it on your bucket list! Just south is Point Lobos State Natural Reserve....whoa...stunning hikes with beautiful scenery. Combine the 2 when you are there. Oh also, you can rent electric bikes in Monterey for the 7-mile area and skip the park fee. Its a fun way to see 7 mile.

Can't sleep, up whether want to or not - no whudda mean... Got this on for the sound and the sights aren't so bad neither. Man-O-Man have driven all over this continent and can think of a thousand Drive's just like this all over, everyone just as beautiful as another. This is nice, but you go up by Oregon, mm-mm-mmm! Drives are something, like there're been times can get a buzz on the beauty - make you feel so mellow, e.g., in Virginia or eastern Tennessee, that whole area. Like was up in Maine once, along the coast there... Just as beautiful. A lot of times just having the open road like in Kansas, you wouldn't think it's great right off, but you go along Hwy 34 traveling thru all these small towns going west into Colorado, in the afternoon - that was like drugs, like a pain killer, put you in a trance.

There are around 15 parking spots at Lone Cypress so it all depends on how many people are visiting. We rented electric bikes one day and toured the entire 17-mile drive. You skip the park fee when riding in on a bike. Its a great way to see and get a feel of the area.

17 miles. There is a park fee to enter. If you are riding a bike there is no fee.

Thank you, my favorite were the areas shown in the first 12 min! Gorgeous... different weather made for different experiences in theses same areas. You can also rent bike and ride around without paying the park fee. Real nice bike ride.

Taking a trip to Monterey and trying to figure out which entrance to take? I heard there are a few starting points? Anyone know where to begin?

Rent an electric bike at Cannery row and go from there. Its a great way to see it all and you skip the park fee.

That’s Bird Rock actually out there. Seal rock is the beach that you drove past a few hundred yards back. Bird rock is white because it’s covered in bird poop. Hehe. 15:00

Yeah I know. :(( I missed this before I published the video on KZread. The thing that sucks about KZread is that you cannot make any changes to your video once it is up. If I change it, then I have to re-post it as a new video and lose all of its analytics. I think I will add the error in the description. At least Seal Rock and Bird Rock are right next to each other. Not a huge mistake if the viewers want to head out and see this beautiful area. You are the only one that has caught this so far. Wish I had a prize for you.

@@ToddKortte it just caught my attention because I’ve driven by it so many times over the years. I really enjoyed the footage by the way. The only reason I wanted to mention the rock was because of it’s snow capped - glacial appearance, and what makes it so. Thanks for posting the video.

You are lucky to have access to this area for so many times. Thank you for your comments, and for the correction on Bird Rock. Parking is limited. A really nice way to see this area is to rent electric bikes in Monterey. You can ride along the road and get a good look at it all. You also skip the park entrance fee.

How long does it take to drive and stop by vista point through 17 mile drive?

Depends on what Vista Point you are referring to. There are a lot of Vista Points in California.

Would you recommend this drive for someone that gets motion sickness and is afraid of heights?

Yes, no problem. The drive is slow and there are plenty of spots to pull over and take a break. Heights are fine too. Take it one step at a time. 95% of the place does not have a steep drop anywhere.

The first song sounds very similar to Bron-Yr-Aur by Led Zeppelin

BMW. I had a GoPro suction cupped to the roof. We also rented electric bikes and rode this area. i highly recommend that. You get to skip the park fee, and its also a great way to see this area.
