4K Video Editing Performance | Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 (Davinci Resolve 18)

Ғылым және технология

In this video we test out video editing and rendering on the Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 using Davinci Resolve 18.1.4.
There's a couple rough spots on the audio, I'm sorry about that. I have a new headset on order. I rarely do this style of video, so I had no idea it was starting to go out on me.
Thanks for watching.

    Hey Chad! You had me worried in your latest video, I almost thought you were calling it quits there for a second, lol. Resolve is awesome, it's taking over really, lots of Adobe die hards are making the switch. It's just such a nice editor. Heck yeah on the Speed Editor, that bad boy looks awesome. This Book3 pro 360 really surprised me during the editing process. I was not expecting it to handle 4K footage this well. I hope you're having a great weekend my friend.

    Excellent improvement on last year due to better software and hardware. DaVinci is CPU-intensive, so the old iGPU in this 13th-gen does not hold back this app. Good to know that using DaVinci on 13th-gen hardware will be a solid experience for semi-pros like yourself and for amateurs like me. I am also puzzled that Samsung made an Ultra, which was not a 360 convertible! Maybe next year for that, possibly testing the market and as the clamshell outsells convertibles many times, the clamshell was the test subject?

    Yeah I am also really depressed why the ultra isn't also a 2 in 1, would be great if they do such a laptop next year but I think with the ultra model they just want to bring a competitor to the MacBook pro and won't bring it with touch etc., but let's hope 😅

    Thank you for the Video! I have two questions, the first one would be how fast would it be on the ultra you think? 10 min or faster cause you said normally for integrated gpu it needs 4-5 times of the footage length. Second would be if you could do a video about proxys, I have never heard about them and what they do etc. would help a lot, thank you very much!

  • @RADERTECH

    @RADERTECH

    Hi, thank you so much for watching, and my apologies for slow reply. If I said 4 to 5 times, I'm sorry, I meant 3 to 4. If I had to estimate how much faster the Ultra would be at rendering, I'd say it probably drops the time by a few minutes at minumum, but likely won't be as low as 10 minutes for a 10 minute render, probably closer to 15 to 16. Resolve is really CPU intensive, and though the Ultra has an H series chip, it's not really destroying this year's P series chips, and the dedicated 4050/4070 won't make a huge difference for this task. Where the Ultra will shine is with 3D modeling, like with Blender. That's where it's going to wipe the 360 clean, lol. I'll be happy to cover Proxies for you. I took a screenshot of this, and will likely just include it in next week's Q&A video. I can explain them pretty fast in Resolve, it won't take a dedicated video.

    Hi Mike, thanks for watching. So there's no i9 option for this particular machine, but basically an i9 out there that's recent is going to be great for video editing. Just make sure you have ample RAM and a decent GPU and you'll be all set. If you're editing with Davinci Resolve, you don't even really need a good GPU, just CPU. This machine's i7 1360p handles it pretty well, so an i9 should crush editing.

    Nearly every KZread content creator shoots in 30fps. 24 is for cinematic footage and hardly anyone uses that on youtube, and 60 is for high speed stuff, like FPV drones. It's hard to take your comment seriously when you can't get the basics right. Thanks for stopping by.
