4K Sweden Walk 🇸🇪 The Beautiful 1800s Industrial Landscape in Norrköping 🏭 スウェーデン、ノーショーピングの産業景観散歩

A Walk through The Industrial Landscape in Norrköping (Norrköpings Industrilandskap), recorded August 9, 2021
The Industrial Landscape around Motala stream is
unique in Europe. It consists of the central parts of
the city and is dominated by the rushing water of
the stream and by stately factory buildings.
Most factories were built between 1850 and 1920
but the rapids and falls of the stream have been
utilized ever since the middle ages.
In the early 1970s, the industrial landscape was
a closed and decayed factory area. But instead of
tearing it down and build new modern buildings
the Norrköpings municipality decided to preserve
the area.
In the middle of the industrial landscape, there are
now museums, cafes, restaurants and a concert hall
where historical iron beams meet current design to
timeless tones.
Norrköping has a population of 95,618 inhabitants in 2016,[3] out of a municipal total of 130,050,[4] making it Sweden's tenth largest city and eighth-largest municipality.

For my money, the best video you've shot in Sweden to date. Talent galore. Frames like 19th century Masters'. Belongs in an upscale coffee table art volume.

Wondering what those factories produce? Hopefully the water is not being polluted. Noticing how the street lights hang between buildings centered over streets in many places no light polls. Makes for a much cleaner view of the street scape. Big difference btw Japan &’Sweden is the amount of outdoor advertising, not much for Swedish businesses. Great views such an interesting place!

There is almost no production in those factories any more. Most of them have been repurposed for office space, museums and the University in the 1990ies. It is an historical industrial landscape with industrial buildings built in the 1600s to the early 1900s with some resent residential buildings from the 2010s mixed in. Most of the factories used to produce textiles, paper and phoneswitches. Indeed the water used to be very polluted, however the river bed was, as far as I know, cleaned while the area was redeveloped.
