I say to this day, the transition to phase 2 for Shiva’s trial in ffxiv still shakes me. From Footsteps in the Snow playing then thinking my party got wiped with diamond dust… then fucking Oblivion start playing and I start bawling my eyes out.

Nothing tops Shiva from FFX. The finger snap is just chef's kiss 🤌🏻❄️✨

I’m definitely an FFX Shiva is pinnacle Shiva kinda girl. Nothing beats the attitude on that snap.

For FFXIV i think you should put her intro cutscene there too, even i love her heels step shot but that’s too less to show her gorgeous for this version. 😭

8 is best of all time.. Then 10 for her finesse with that snap of the finger at the end. Period.

Imo FFX had the best summons, they looked amazing plus they where fully controllable party members that had more then a single attack.

16's are top tier overall

FFX Shiva will always be the best for me. That design is so pretty.

My personal top 3: 1. Jill's Shiva from FFXVI 2. Ryne's Shiva from FFXIV Shadowbringers 3. Ysayle's Shiva from FFXIV Heavensward

My favorite has to be the one from FF16, the coolest incarnation of Shiva, even though she's never at her best in a fight during the game. Then FF14, FF13 and Dissidia NT.

I love Shiva in X. I have fond memories of her in VIII as well.

Personally, i like it when Clive uses Diamond dust.

FFX Shiva feels like aesthetic peak design, her blue dreadlocks, translucent ice skin, and the way she carries herself. There is no way of improving on that. But then again FFX had such superb designs for Summons that later interpretations of Ifrit and Bahamuth amongst others feel lackluster by comparison. FF 16 Shiva feels like a girl. FFX Shiva feels like a Demigoddess.

16 has the best summons, I mean the whole game revolves around them.

FF8 Shiva's my favorite. Especially the sound behind the attack. Powerful blast.

I always remember the snap of the fingers from Shiva, that is my favorite one!

ffx was my first exposure to shiva so she is special to me. but ffxiv shiva is so majestic and ffxvi shiva has this cold elegance that suits her well. it's my first time seeing type zero shiva and i like the skater aesthetic they gave her.

The one in XV is quite sad when you consider the fact that Shiva's target was Ifrit, and they were lovers before he became enthralled.

I wish they just made her 16 version match at least 15 in terms of strength or power cuz in 15 alone Shiva immediately changes the atmosphere when she appears but in 16 she always struggled (I know it's probably cuz of Jill succumbing to the curse far more than the other Eikons but man her potential was just wasted ☹️).

Well if you played the DLC It is because of Jill succumbing to the curse because ...*Rising Tide spoiler*... The dominant of Shiva from 100 years ago literally freezed time to seal fucking leviathan and created an artificial mother cristal with her power... So yeah, a real good dominant of Shiva would have been too broken to fight in the main story

My favorites are definitely XVI, IX and X’s.

1 - Ysayle's Shiva ( FFXIV ) 2 - Ryne's Shiva ( FFXIV ) 3 - Jill's Shiva ( FFXVI ) Those are the best one for me by far, their design and especially story / background / character. Unlike most of games where Summons are just a "magic spell with a cool animation", they have an actuall story and development. Also, Ysayle's Shiva literally stepping on your face to break her Diamond Dust is pure gold 💃🏻

Honestly Shiva is and will always be an iconic part of Final Fantasy!

Hi!! I read your comment and i thought just the same!! I remember Shiva's attack that way, so i kept reading comments and suddenly, i remembered!! I suppose you played FF XII, because is in that game!! But, it's not made by Shiva!! Since it has esper Mateus instead of Shiva, they gave Fran "Diamond Dust" as a special attack, and she makes it so similar to FF X, but blowing instead of finger stuff. Interesting fact: Mateus use Shiva as a living shield, so i was hoping to see Mateus attack or Fran attack in the video 😢

Idc the shiva bike is badass and super pretty My faves are X, XIII, and XVI. XIV edenverse Shiva is also one of my faves but she’s not a real Shiva. X is the best Shiva out of all the Shivas.

Out of all of this my takeaway was...'wait....Zenos was in one of the Dissidia games?!'

XVI Shiva is my fave, but then again all XVI summons aren't just summons, but are characters themselves. X Shiva is 10/10 design and queen energy tho. I think her finger snap is what is referenced in XIV Shiva and her heel click.

My personal favorites are Jill and Ysayle. Shiva as a fleshed out character is my jam. Love when they do summons that way. However FFX Shiva is pinnacle of Shiva. The design, the movements. Yuna catching her cloak and that finger snap. That was an awakening for many you gaymers lol. Which is hilarious cause here is this half naked woman but boys who never even knew the words shouted YAS QUEEN when that snap went off lol

Kinda hard to take her seriously as this powerful being when she’s almost always basically naked. At least they got it right in 14 and 16. Shame they made her oddly weak in 16, she draws with Titan in her first appearance and gets wrecked every other time. :/

All the eikons in 16 are equal in power. The host is the only determining factor. Which is why Barnabas kicked everyone’s ass.

@@Jasonlol73 This is not stated at any point, and if anything, there’s proof of the opposite, since as much as we all love him, Dion doesn’t seem to be that special without Bahamut, yet as Bahamut he can take on and be winning against 2 Eikons at once, with one of them having defeated a powered up Eikon previously.

@@MayHugger Dion isn’t anything? Dion held the tide of Akashic that consisted of two behemoths and he still stayed behind to kill even more. He’s the strongest dragoon. How is he not anything. You also didn’t contend the fact that Barnabas, who easily kicked Clive’s ass, is the strongest both with his Eikon and without.

Barnabas is inconsistent with his strength, he wrecks everyone, including Clive with little effort, but then shortly after Clove beats him despite there being no reason that should be possible, he really wasn’t much stronger narratively. Barnabas is not the strongest as an Eikon, Clive as Ifrit beats his ass every time he transforms into an Eikon. Being the strongest dragoon really isn’t that special by that point of the game, we fight multiple of those with ease by then, they’re treated like a slightly stronger grunt, remember that we beat one as a kid with only a single Eikon ability, they’re nowhere near as impressive as you’re trying to make them out.

@@MayHugger Gav and Jill hardly counts as a small army especially when behemoths can call meteor swarms and destroy entire castles. Did you keep up with the story at all? Did you forget entirely that Clive takes a portion of Shiva from Jill and suddenly is no longer getting his ass kicked? Who would’ve thought 5? 6? Eikons at that point would finally allow him to beat Barnabas. This actually adds to my point. Shiva on Clive was a massive power boost where as on Jill she wasn’t really that strong. If you’re claiming that all the dragoons are equal in power then I’m really just arguing with someone who can’t grasp simple understanding. You’re saying the dragoon we beat as a kid, would be equal in power to the dragoon posted as a hunt? And with that same logic, Dion is just as strong as every other dragoon. 😂 I’m done here.
