Thank you for watching! In Japan, the development of department stores and the decline of the population have led to the decline of shopping streets. However, I find a kind of beauty in the slightly lonely scenery of a once prosperous town, as seen in the video. Since ancient times, we Japanese have found beauty in fading, fleeting things, like the falling cherry blossoms.

I do find beauty in loneliness and emptiness but it worries me that such a highly civilized society such a beautiful country with its declining population.

The Japanese government is also trying to improve the declining birthrate, but it is not easy.

The people make the town. Not a bunch of shuttered storefronts. Very boring.
