🚆 4K Peaceful winter train ride in Zurich Highlands (Cab Ride Switzerland | S3 Wetzikon - Zürich)
Welcome aboard the S3 service on this beautiful late winter day! The cabin is comfortably warm, so please take a seat! We find ourselves in Wetzikon in Zürich Highlands and will soon depart to Zürich. This line is not the fastest connection from Wetzikon to Zürich, but serves many stations in the Kempt valley and offers excellent connections to bus services into other areas of the Highlands. The whole route is a single-track section up to Effretikon, where we will join the main line. Our train terminates at Zürich Hardbrücke, one of the many S-Bahn Zürich stations in the city. Since it is very busy, we can't just stay there until we return. The S3 trains are therefore driven into Zürich Herdern maintenance facility where they stay for about 20 minutes before returning back into service into the other direction. During rush hour, the S3 does not terminate at Zürich Hardbrücke, instead it continues further to Bülach. Enjoy the relaxing ride!

ECHT MEGA !

Looking back, I see that the last time we went on this line was three years ago. It's interesting to see what's different since then. Approaching Fehraltorf is quite different, with those new developments there.
Nice 🙂👍
I have been to Kempten, altough in Germany :)

Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt! Gerade die Tunnelszenen stellen mich nicht voll zufrieden. Im Vergleich zu den alten Aufnahmen aber sicher besser.
GREAT THANK YOU😁🦘🐨🍺🚈🤠
Great cab ride on a Zurich S Bahn service S3 I don't think eny communities would take the S3 between Wetzikon and Zurich as it take longer than the S5 or S15 services which are quicker

S3 is better
😎👍
The city and town planners here can hold their heads high, as well as in Germany, Netherlands and Austria. The cities and towns are clean, excellent public transport and infrascructure.
ry nice videoone
👍👍🎥👍👍
At 11:42 you can see a shadow of a plane making an approach to the nearby airport.
Yes indeed a mellow midday ride, much appreciated, thank you! The stored LION set at Effretikon and the need to manoeuvre via the Herdern sidings remind me, is it possible to show the complete run of a LION set, either in the morning or evening rush? That would mean both the loaded trip and the empty sector (maybe via a different route) either to or from storage or to line up a second load. Saw a LION set creeping through Dietlikon Station mid-afternoon once when I was staying with friends nearby, so clearly there is flavour to be had from this process. Anyway, thanks again for everything you do \m/

As always, when I get the chance to film something, I will film it. ;-) The HVZ trainsets are indeed not used very efficiently, but simply necessary to cope with the passenger numbers during rush hour.

Beautiful view! Thanks for sharing 🤘🏾 I’m a musician and I really love to put this videos while I’m working. May I talk with you to use some footage to show it in a little concert that I have? I would really love to play this behind me while I’m playing. Cheers!
Very nice video and, as I have mentioned before in comments, I am also very interested in operations of the trains and the signaling systems. I have noted in watching a number of them, especially on single track lines, that the train seems to be operating under a type of absolute block system where the train is given permission from one station to the next. The away signal on the station entry pole usually shows "expect stop" yet by the time you stop, unless there is an opposing train coming, the station exit signal has gone clear allowing you into that block.

Not exactly, it depends on different things. In this case, most signals were on stop because of open level crossings after the station.

@@RailwayEmotions Thank you for this reply and information.
I'm sure its been asked before but train speed would be nice to see.
I found it interesting that the stations on the single-line section were all right-hand running. Different since LH running seems to be the norm. With the answers to my questions and those of others, I'm able to appreciate the track-side signage which appears. That is all bar one. An example is at 7:40. There it is 320 over 6 (the latter being greater in size than the former). I think it has something to do with the track ahead. What does it tell you as a train driver?

The steepness and length of the following section, either upwards or downwards, depending in which direction the arrow is pointing.

@@RailwayEmotions Ah, it all seems so logical when it is explained. Thank you.
Does your camera happen to capture in 50 FPS? I'm noticing a hitch in motion at about 10 Hz, as if your editor has to make up an extra 10 frames per second that are missing from the original clip. If you are actually capturing in 50 FPS and exporting in 60 FPS, I bet that hitch would go away if you exported in 50 FPS instead.

Great, now that you've said it, I notice it, too. ;-) it's not there in the uploaded footage, but for whatever reason visible on KZread. It is a 60fps recording. I might have to try a few things to get rid of it the next time. Thanks for your tips, I appreciate it.
Dürfen wir nicht bis in die Abstellanlage mitfahren?

What a nice video. The railway operation is always so smooth in Switzerland. Anyway, a local emgineer back here started doing the same time of video. This one is from one of the main lines, that's due to close from April 19, for a 9 month 'Maintenance Blitz' (some works are already being carried away, hence the frequent speed restrictions and some new rails stockpiled in some places). It's a single track CTC equipped route, and quite hilly (but grades are smoother than in some swiss lines; the most demanding are about 15/1000. Not much for a 250 Ton train hauled by a 5,6 Mw locomotive). Here's the link. Hope you like it ; kzread.info/dash/bejne/gI2uzdejhs2eZKg.html
